Allright before some 1 screams booster no i dont crash vehicles and repair them afterwards like the WARRIORS do. No i just simply repair the MCC when the shields are dropping. I get a grimsnes with 4 remote repair modules, fly up the MCC and do my mechanics work. I get every second +25 points and slow down the damage the MCC takes overall so i squeeze a bit more time out of the match if my team is loosing. And i keep playing normal till the shields of our MCC drop. If you do this you get 3 times more SP then usually. Your thoughts about this? If you think its boosting consider that i do not damage the MCC i repair it from enemy fire. |

What lmfao, awesome >_< How are you fitting 4 shield reps on a grim though, they only have 2 high slots (or do reppers use low?)
On this topic of odd things you can do, does anyone know if you can hit the MCC with an Orbital Bombardment to damage it? |

very nice sir! i wouldn't mind if you were keeping my MCC rep'd. sounds like fun having 4 remote reps, good thinking to get more points out of rep'n the MCC lol

idk but that sounds interesting as well! would most likely only be worth saving them up and then using a few in a row on the MCC when its shields are dropped. |

lol, awesome! Nice thinking outside of the box.
I don't think it's boosting at all. You can repair ships in Eve, why not have the ability here as well. You are, in fact, helping your team by buying them time. |

I know the OB goes through the mcc and kills ppl underneath it. No idea if it damages it though. |

The only way this is ok is IF you can still be shot. If your outside of the range of all weapons then its broken. No matter what your doing there has to be some way to kill you. |

I didn't even know thatyou could interact with the mcc. I tried several times to fire with the big stationary turrets, but i couldn't understand if i did actual damage to the mcc.
So that means that if i can repair my mcc, i can also damage the enemy's..probably not worth the same sp, but is productive for the team |

If one ship can reach there, then an enemy ship can engage in air-to-air combat. It adds a new level to the battlefield, which can be quite interesting. |

Lmao, depending on the map, you can't be touched because your MCC is back behind the redzone. You can just park your ship behind the MCC and be safe all match rofl, good times, good times. |

I'm wondering just how much time you are buying your team vs. what you could be doing to help cap objectives.
Of course atm there isn't much else you can do with a dropship, so I say go for it. |

Yea, this didn't work at all for me. I spent the entire game trying to lock on to the MCC, it would only try for a lock on when I wasn't facing it, and once it locked on, nothing. If I turned to face the MCC, the lock was canceled. Also, I had 4 shield reps equipped, but it only showed 3 in the module wheel. Not once did a repper activate... |

The amount of damage you can do with the stationary turrets is minimal, doesn't even give you WP for the hits. The railgun doesn't register a hit, the missle does, but again with damage so minimal that firing for the entire match still wont net you WP. |

Awhile ago i saw a video of CCP showing Dust in the early stages at a show or convention. In the game video (actual video of a Dev playing, not a cinematic) it showed the player standing beside 4 or 5 turret installations. All of them were firing missiles at the MCC. You could see missile trails coming from other various locations on the map doing the same.
I have a suspicion that this is intended. Installations, fighter jets, etc may be able to target the MCC to speed destruction, in which case it is perfectly within reason to assume repairing the MCC would be an intended task also. This actually gives dropships another purpose and gives another reason for fighter jets to exists: to try and take down dropships repping the MCC. This is all theory, but i think it is brilliant if true. I'll do some testing on the MCC when I get a chance.
Great job OP! |

Just for those who want to try this out go to the cockpit view and try to target the blue marker of the MCC. When you activate the armor repair the whole MCC is glowing yellow like if a armor repair is on. Same goes for remote shield boosters but then its glowing blue. You can actually see it all across the map. basically the MCC is glowing like a gigantic christmas tree. And for some reason the cestus is better to target at then the charron maybe because the center of the ship is a bit smaller and not so much blocked by the hull like on the charron. |

I'll try this again a bit later, I was trying to target the Charron and just couldn't. I'm curious why only 3 of my reppers were available when I had 4 equipped, odd. |

I could be wrong but since the goal is for the MCC to be a player purchased and run vehicle (at least in some match types, i.e. once you get out of High Sec) I'd say this is an intentional implementation even if that doesn't show up 100% in the beta game state. After all to my understanding the MCC is going to cost more than any LAV, HAV, or Dropship on the market and be the linchpin to command & control within a district, then you should absolutely be able to repair it. In point of fact I believe you will have to repair it (either in or out of battle) because it's not going to 'magically' be replaced or repaired free of charge/without resources. So having a Merc who can and will do it for your Crop? That's going to be pretty vital.
My 0.02 ISK Cross
ps ~ yes a portion of this is supposition derived from how these things work in EVE and what was said at FanFest, but I really don't think I'm too far off.
EDIT: Any chance this can work on Armor as well as Shields? |
