Oooooooooh loooooook. People boosting. And how? By the MASSIVE sp awarded for support roles. Had a game the other night where people were at it. Was my second game. I came top with 15-4 basically vs a whole team.
I got 10k SP because my "contribution" isn't as much as a booster because hey, support players need SP too... A guy with 0-0 got over 28k SP same game. Lower Logi SP. You should not be rewarded in SP for helping your team... It should be what you do anyway...
Boosting is common in any MMO. If my SP "contribution" is determined by some **** with a repair tool, I'm going to be executing Logi's. (need friendly fire)

"Yeah, heal me! I dare you! Just try and steal my SP! Die SP thief!!!!" Wait so they spec to revive and heal you, but they don't spec for killing. As a result of whatever ise going on in your head, you say that their investment is invalid and their team efforts worthless, but yours are undervalued?
Mine are not undervalued. Logi SP is over valued. Repair a vehicle for 100wp. No skill there, and unless the vehicle does something special, it accomplishes nothing. Support is only ever that. It supports the "main" element of your force. Think about things from a bigger perspective. The guys who killed everyone and took the objective, or the guys repairing and rezzin each other but doing no killing. Which ones do you hire...?
Support should be rewarded, but Israel points all really dumb all round. 150wp for killing an RDV? Wtf? Only 60 for a Rez? And 100 for capping the letter... It needs thought but I can't do a thread on this. As you can see, Logi's will be angry with my views.
Edit: btw these guys suck at boosting. Supply depot + militia nanohives + r1 + defend order = SP farming. |

Change your clan name and MAG comparisons will stop. While you are called SVER True Bloods, you'll always be seen as a MAG clan.

My rage was great that game. I'm one of those "serious" players like some of STB's guys. There is much rage in me, waiting to explode onto YouTube when someone records me having a bad game. I shall be TKing all of you at sometime as revenge (so I killed you that game but meh, I'll still be mad in a year :P )

Deadpool, you should speak to quickgloves about renaming... Might not go down well, but you can ask. Space Tamsen Boys would be my suggestion. Oh wait... That's still got a MAG reference.
So, back on topic...
People "abusing" these things are obviously really bugging people. It's not the fact the boosters get so much SP. It's the fact 8vs16 aint no fun :p There are exceptions to this rule.
I don't really see too much wrong with it, mostly because friendly fire will allow me to just explode the vehicle they're repairing if I must. Also the Dropship MCC repping is legit IMHO. It won't stop you losing if the enemy win on the ground, but it might need some balancing (damage/rep/MCC hp). Again, Dropships are pretty flimsy, so removing them shouldn't prove too hard. I'm obviously assuming coordinated play here.
Because boosting is a team bonding experience. Pisses me off if I'm having a bad game too. |
