However, there is no Caldari Battlecruiser skill and Amarr Battlecruiser skill, just Battlecruisers which is shared, meaning you don't need to train a new battlecruiser skill to use the other race's ship, just the other pre-reqs. EDIT: On a similar note, it would be fun to get pirate faction gear which gains bonuses from different racial skills, much like the ships in EVE.
I remember some dev saying a few month ago that they were going to over haul the ship skills in eve at some point SoonTm and remove things like Battlecruiser to be replaced with Caldari battlecruiser etc. May be on a backburnre and those things usually take a while from dev talk to implementation but it sounds like CCP dont like the racially shared skills.

It's likely that Battlecruisers and Destroyers are going racial next year which implies (to me at least) that Dust skills are going to follow suit toward race spec.
