Now sure people can go on and on about all sorts of stuff in balance and fun and whatnot. But to me this sounds like a range of 100-500 players were fine with the way tanks were and the starting of nerfs may have put their confidence in the game off. Take this how you will just wanting to share a observation.
I haven't played since, I tried a few rounds, and found them too easy to kill tanks when I ran as AV (In just a Tier 2 assault no less), and when I called in tanks, they tended to die right away. At the cost of replacement, and not really any tanks to play with as my secondary skill line (AV) I really can't be bothered with the remainder of the build.
I even went to the IRC, as suggested, never got to say anything, all I saw was a major anti-tank circle-jerk, and the few who dared speak in tanks defence were run out of there in short order, so I left again. I've been wasting my time here on the forums in the hopes that the DEVS might take notice here, and figure out that the IRC channel is not representative. Not holding any breath though. Beyond that, I've really couldn't be bothered with DUST as such at the moment. |

Funny, I kept saying the same about wannabe AV people. Instead they had a circle-jerk in IRC and the DEVS caved and make tanks much easier to kill.
It is all about preferred play style. I'm no good at the "gun game", which is why I hoped Dust would differentiate itself from the other gun games out there, and use the knowledge CCP have from EVE online to make vehicles fun.
Vehicles (especially the LAV) are the only things in this game that is killable with just one hit of anything, without any effort what so ever on the part of the shooter. Guns, even FG's via infantry, you have to get out there, be exposed, but the AV role you can practically be hiding behind a hill, drop a grenade on the ground, let loose a swarm, or to some extend fire a Forge gun blast, and as you are OHK killing the vehicle, they really can't evade. |
