Here are some questions I don't know the answers to and can't really find anything on the wider NDA'd web. If you have any questions of your own feel free to add here... or of course if you know any of the answers.
1) Is there anything like EvE Fitting Tool (EFT) for DUST yet?
2) Will you be able to transfer ISK or Aurem to DUST chars from EvE?
3) What skills should you have trained up to pilot a tank?
4) What are skill clusters or injections that I see on the market? What will they do?
5) Is there going to be a skill wipe when the game "officially" launches?
6) How will dropsuits, vehicles, and weapons be represented in the game? In EvE? Will I be able to view all of my "stuff" in a hanger view?
7) Will there be post-game stats I can look at, like grenade kills, headshots, hit percentage, etc?
8) Are you guys going to give us other options for controller layouts? Will we be able to create our own controller configurations?
9) Is DUST getting put on TQ this month (September)?
10) Are these doors in my 'captains quarters' (x2) going to open at some point? When?
11) How do we, or can we, sell stuff on the market? Is the market going to resemble that of eve? Are the two markets going to even coexist or are they separate at launch?

16) If I use a bluetooth headset w/ my PS3, is that all I need to chat in-game, or do I need to buy something in addition to make that possible? (sorry this question is because I just got a PS3 and I'm new to the platform)
17) If I made 2 alts in my empty slots, would they be able to train in real time at the same time my main trains? Do they accrue SP passively, I guess is my question. Could I make say a sniper and a heavy and just let them train in the BG for a year?
18) Can I move from one system to another of my own volition?
19) What is the point of the star map in DUST?
20) Can I own anything but gear in DUST (property, war barges, stations, etc...)? I still don't see why I should care that much about my team winning vs just joining a battle and getting my personal kills in.
21) Can you rob someone or scam them in DUST?
22) How much of the game are we even looking at here? 50%? What other features are we not seeing? Are the graphics dialed all the way down right now, or is what you see the long and short of it?
23) I flew my main in EvE to the system where my DUST dude was, and they didn't see one another in local. Is that just how it's going to be, or will that change in the future? When you are cruising for targets in lowsec in EvE will you be seeing DUST people in local? Will your local view tell you what you need to differentiate capsuleers from MERCs?
24) Why can't I sit down on my couch?
25) Is there a way to get your own videos playing in your DUST captain's quarters like you can in EvE? (I have some old-skool A-Team episodes that seem appropriate)
26) Is there anything you can do to alter your in-game appearance? If not, will there be?
27) Can I own an MCC? A war barge? Do war barges stay in space when the owner logs?
28) Where are all of the items, dropsuits, etc I own in relationship to the EvE universe? Does all my stuff just follow me around?
29) Will DUST players be able to come into a EvE corporation office? Is that even in the plans?
30) Can somebody explain to me how skillpoint accrual works? It's some kind of combination of SP you earn in matches and SP you get passively? How are match SP calculated? |

There's a lot of uncertainty with the wiping of skills and ISK/AUR. Some are under the impression there will be one on next build and at least one other before release while some are under the impression of it being just the one at release. At the end of the day who knows? Only CCP and it's quite quiet there right now from what I can gather.
For piloting a tank I would say vehicle skills. Then there's engineering/mechanics for adding modules and more.
I would imagine the doors will open up at some point. Take the war barge for example. If you check out a 2009 video on youtube of Dust 514's preview they had the guy walk around looking at some things in the war barge that you can't really get to right now like the NCC housing area, a trophy room and more. So I would imagine and hope so.
Selling stuff will be put in the game at some point I suppose. It's not there yet (I actually made a thread about this the other day asking if it's in-game yet)
There is a skill point multiplier augmentation for AUR which can be bought for as little as -ú1(.30?)
VOIP is enabled by default but it's limited. I don't know enough on how to comment to be honest as I don't personally use it, though I did once see something in the market place for AUR which is used to further the functionality for your character(s).
With the property and war barges question I'm not really sure. It might be implemented when corporations come into the game. It could even be later. But eventually?
I wonder that about the couch too :)
In-game appearances might have something in the market place. I think I saw a generic accessories category somewhere that wasn't really put anywhere near stuff that people actually need (like guns) so possibly. There is also different colour drop suits but I guess that doesn't really conform with what you're asking.
If any of that is correct then I do hope it helps. It's not every question, it's just the ones that I've had some sort of idea or suggestion about.

These are only the answers to the questions i know, if its not here my answer would have been: 'i have know idea'
5) Is there going to be a skill wipe when the game "officially" launches? I hope so 1. because atm in the beta im training whatever skills suit how im feeling i.e. feel like sniping for a bit: get an extra level in somthing that helps sniping, feel like tanking it out in a heavy: level up and extra armor related skill etc. and i think once ive got to grips with what i want to specialise in, then i can really level it up well and concentrate on that aspect 2. It would give the beta testers (us :P) a large advantage over newer players, with our decked out prototype gear and 1 billion billion ISK+SP players
6) How will dropsuits, vehicles, and weapons be represented in the game? In EvE? Will I be able to view all of my "stuff" in a hanger view? I would say the only way an EVE character would see another DUST players item's may be in a contract (or on the market before being sold to a DUST player), and as characters are separate (right?) your EVE and DUST guys are separate accounts and so you wouldnt be able to open up your DUST 'hangar' in EVE i dont think
7) Will there be post-game stats I can look at, like grenade kills, headshots, hit percentage, etc? Post game, i have know idea, though im 99% sure there will be a personal life time page, like there is atm on the character sheet, though it only displays K/D (+ratio) atm
10) Are these doors in my 'captains quarters' (x2) going to open at some point? When? Atm EVE has doors that dont open, so im assuming when they open, DUST's will soon follow, which is when im guessing you can get social interaction between dust and EVE players. Play chess with a heavy from DUST, rock, paper, scissors with a Jovian (yes i know you cant play as them, but hey, they'd beat you 100% with there crazy Jovian skillz (emphasis on the 'z') anyway)
11) How do we, or can we, sell stuff on the market? Is the market going to resemble that of eve? Are the two markets going to even coexist or are they separate at launch? Dont quote me but i think i heard/saw somewhere they will be intergrated. Or at least they should: if EVE and DUST are meant to be truely connected you can leave DUST out of the main driving force behind EVE

I would say they're talking about swarm launchers, handheld (though not small :P ) launchers that fire four rockets at a time, hence: swarm. I cant even drive a proper tank yet (minus the milita one) so i dont know if you can fit one to a tank

It would make sense that they didnt passively train SP my reasoning comes from EVE where you can only train one at a time

Not in the beta, as of yet, but i would say yes for the full game, how else are you going to fight for your corp thats influence spreads over the entire galaxy :P, i dont know how the physical moving will take place thoug (will it be instaneous, will you have to move a clone in a contract that an EVE player must carry out, then effectivly use it like a jump clone from EVE)
19) What is the point of the star map in DUST? I would assume this is how you will chose your destination once inter-stellar travel is unlocked in the beta/full game
23) I flew my main in EvE to the system where my DUST dude was, and they didn't see one another in local. Is that just how it's going to be, or will that change in the future? When you are cruising for targets in lowsec in EvE will you be seeing DUST people in local? Will your local view tell you what you need to differentiate capsuleers from MERCs? Im pretty sure the DUST beta is going on in the test EVE server (SiSi, or somthing (i haven't played EVE in a while)), unless you mean you flew it into the SiSi solar system, in which case i dont know
24) Why can't I sit down on my couch? Your a DUST merc. you dont sit around like a lazy old capsuleer

Well atm all DUST mercs have dashing helmets on, may be you'll be able to take them off when they unlock the quarter doors for some socializing, in which case would make sense to also unlock aesthetic characterization

Im sure the more kills/points you get the more SP you get though direct calculations i.e. SP per kill, or SP per capture, i have know idea, it would be nice if SP came up below points after an action is completed, or just remove points from the HUD, and tell us the SP

1. no, EFT is an api made tool since dust 514 is nda'ed up api development is not up yet. 2. AUR no and never, isk maybe but not now. 3. Core skills (mech engineering ect) + HAV and turret control. 4. Spikes amp the skill gain in a catagory, clusters just temporary grant skills. 5. Now on the other hand this may mean that buildings and the sorts would require biomass and nanite materials to be brought to the area to stage a war but we're not there yet. 29 That is the current plan matter of factually dust 514 corps will require one eve player for full control level similar to eve side until dust 514 software catches up look for it next build. 30. Skill points are both passively and active components, active components are doing things positive for your team and negative against your opponents for now its a simple score bonus. Additional points are granted for time on field and other things its all a well hidden under the hood thing we hadnt had time to tear apart yet. |

Yes, but they cannot be posted due to the NDA.
2) Will you be able to transfer ISK or Aurem to DUST chars from EvE?
You'll be able to transfer ISK eventually, but not immediately at launch. They want to monitor the markets first. No plans announced for AURUM Transfers.
3) What skills should you have trained up to pilot a tank?
Vehicle Command V, Racial HAV skill, and the related support skills. (Shield upgrades, shield management, shield operation, and shield adaption for shield tanks, and armor upgrades/adaption/mechanics for armor tanks) in addition to general turret skills for the turrets of your choosing.
4) What are skill clusters or injections that I see on the market? What will they do?
These are essentially temporary skills that you can purchase to allow you to use vehicles or equipment that you do not actually have the skill to use. They are intended to allow players to 'try out' things and such.
5) Is there going to be a skill wipe when the game "officially" launches?
The currently announced plan says yes. We should be getting one later this month and then another one later down the line. The later one is subject to change though. Watch for a sticky on this.
6) How will dropsuits, vehicles, and weapons be represented in the game? In EvE? Will I be able to view all of my "stuff" in a hanger view?
No details disclosed on this yet.

The scoreboard is being reworked for the next build. What exactly will appear on it is not disclosed.

The next build should see us on TQ, but the TQ move will not directly coincide with the launch of the build. They want to make sure they won't kill tranquility when it happens!

SoonTM. Gameplay related to this is being worked on but it is low priority compared to spaceships and infantry battles..

The plan currently is they will be mostly separate at launch to prevent them from crashing each other, and then adding integration over time. A full player market in the same spirit as with the one in Eve will be available in dust. Eventually they should merge into one integrated system but that will be much later.

They refer to Swarm Launchers, a light weapon used for fighting vehicles but were placed on the default heavy suit as a (poor) design choice.

Yes, but only for vehicles.

You can scam them. Robbing them may prove difficult because of the way assets are handled differently from eve... It's complicated.

We might get slightly more pretty, but this is pretty much it. We'll get more models for different guns and such, way more suits and weapon variants, and more game modes, corporation functionality, and FW integration.

You didn't see them in local because you were on TQ, and dust is running on SISI right now. You'll see them in local when everthing syncs up. You'll be able to tell they are dust mercs too, so no using dust mercs to make reds think you're a cloaky alt :)

During the integration process, a dust mercenary develops an unnatural fear of sitting as a psychological side effect of becoming indifferent to endless deaths and rebirths.

Not currently. This is trickier to do on a console than a PC. No plans announced to make this process easy or available to the average user.

Yes, SoonTM. We'll eventually have a more in depth character creator and be able to sculpt our appearance similar to how they are made in Eve.

It's complicated. Assets are handled differently in dust than in EVE. Every item you buy on the market is not actually the item itself, it is a blueprint. (Usually BPCs, being expended on a death.) Dust mercs move around via jumpclones, and their blueprints are able to travel with them. However, the materials to make them are another matter entirely. These materials will usually be provided on site by the corporation hiring you or the corporation you are part of. (In hisec NPC matches you'll only need to pay for the blueprints, the NPC corp covers the material costs)
29) Will DUST players be able to come into a EvE corporation office? Is that even in the plans?
There will be no real difference between the two. A dust corp can have eve players, and eve corps can have dust players. In order to take full advantage of all the roles and such, you'll need to have members from both games.

The exactl SP formula is undisclosed and is changing next build. Active SP (Earned in matches) is affected by your performance in the round. It is not the amount of war points you earn that round, but it is related. The better you do in the round, the more SP you will gain. Passive SP is always earned no matter if a character is in a match or logged out, or in their quarters. The passive rate is about 1 SP every 3.5 seconds, or about 23k SP a day. |

Thanks for all the answers provided thus far! btw - just as an fyi I thought I'd mention that when my EvE main chased down my DUST guy they were BOTH on sisi. I do know the difference between servers
Good news about the controller config... I was getting worried.
