1) Is there anything like EvE Fitting Tool (EFT) for DUST yet?
Yes, but they cannot be posted due to the NDA.
2) Will you be able to transfer ISK or Aurem to DUST chars from EvE?
You'll be able to transfer ISK eventually, but not immediately at launch. They want to monitor the markets first. No plans announced for AURUM Transfers.
3) What skills should you have trained up to pilot a tank?
Vehicle Command V, Racial HAV skill, and the related support skills. (Shield upgrades, shield management, shield operation, and shield adaption for shield tanks, and armor upgrades/adaption/mechanics for armor tanks) in addition to general turret skills for the turrets of your choosing.
4) What are skill clusters or injections that I see on the market? What will they do?
These are essentially temporary skills that you can purchase to allow you to use vehicles or equipment that you do not actually have the skill to use. They are intended to allow players to 'try out' things and such.
5) Is there going to be a skill wipe when the game "officially" launches?
The currently announced plan says yes. We should be getting one later this month and then another one later down the line. The later one is subject to change though. Watch for a sticky on this.
6) How will dropsuits, vehicles, and weapons be represented in the game? In EvE? Will I be able to view all of my "stuff" in a hanger view?
No details disclosed on this yet.
7) Will there be post-game stats I can look at, like grenade kills, headshots, hit percentage, etc?
The scoreboard is being reworked for the next build. What exactly will appear on it is not disclosed.
8) Are you guys going to give us other options for controller layouts? Will we be able to create our own controller configurations?
There is a plan along these lines in the works.
9) Is DUST getting put on TQ this month (September)?
The next build should see us on TQ, but the TQ move will not directly coincide with the launch of the build. They want to make sure they won't kill tranquility when it happens!
10) Are these doors in my 'captains quarters' (x2) going to open at some point? When?
SoonTM. Gameplay related to this is being worked on but it is low priority compared to spaceships and infantry battles..
11) How do we, or can we, sell stuff on the market? Is the market going to resemble that of eve? Are the two markets going to even coexist or are they separate at launch?
The plan currently is they will be mostly separate at launch to prevent them from crashing each other, and then adding integration over time. A full player market in the same spirit as with the one in Eve will be available in dust. Eventually they should merge into one integrated system but that will be much later.
12) When people talk about "swarms", are they talking about the heavy infantry weapon or something that gets fit on a vehicle?
They refer to Swarm Launchers, a light weapon used for fighting vehicles but were placed on the default heavy suit as a (poor) design choice.
13) Is there a module along the lines of a "Power Diagnostic System" in DUST? I can only find the generic power grid module.
Yes, but only for vehicles.
14) The stuff on the market for Aurem... can we re-sell those for ISK? Will Aurem priced modules be pay for RL cash only (P2W)?
You can sell them for ISK when the player market is enabled. No P2W in dust.
15) If you want to get as much SP and skill up as fast as possible, what implants and boosters should you get?
Just get the Active and passive skill boosters.
16) If I use a bluetooth headset w/ my PS3, is that all I need to chat in-game, or do I need to buy something in addition to make that possible? (sorry this question is because I just got a PS3 and I'm new to the platform)
Just the bluetooth. You'll need to enable it in your ingame settings though
17) If I made 2 alts in my empty slots, would they be able to train in real time at the same time my main trains? Do they accrue SP passively, I guess is my question. Could I make say a sniper and a heavy and just let them train in the BG for a year?
Yes.
18) Can I move from one system to another of my own volition?
Yes
19) What is the point of the star map in DUST?
It's complicated.
20) Can I own anything but gear in DUST (property, war barges, stations, etc...)? I still don't see why I should care that much about my team winning vs just joining a battle and getting my personal kills in.

21) Can you rob someone or scam them in DUST?
You can scam them. Robbing them may prove difficult because of the way assets are handled differently from eve... It's complicated.
22) How much of the game are we even looking at here? 50%? What other features are we not seeing? Are the graphics dialed all the way down right now, or is what you see the long and short of it?
We might get slightly more pretty, but this is pretty much it. We'll get more models for different guns and such, way more suits and weapon variants, and more game modes, corporation functionality, and FW integration.
23) I flew my main in EvE to the system where my DUST dude was, and they didn't see one another in local. Is that just how it's going to be, or will that change in the future? When you are cruising for targets in lowsec in EvE will you be seeing DUST people in local? Will your local view tell you what you need to differentiate capsuleers from MERCs?
You didn't see them in local because you were on TQ, and dust is running on SISI right now. You'll see them in local when everthing syncs up. You'll be able to tell they are dust mercs too, so no using dust mercs to make reds think you're a cloaky alt :)
24) Why can't I sit down on my couch?
During the integration process, a dust mercenary develops an unnatural fear of sitting as a psychological side effect of becoming indifferent to endless deaths and rebirths.
25) Is there a way to get your own videos playing in your DUST captain's quarters like you can in EvE? (I have some old-skool A-Team episodes that seem appropriate)
Not currently. This is trickier to do on a console than a PC. No plans announced to make this process easy or available to the average user.
26) Is there anything you can do to alter your in-game appearance? If not, will there be?
Yes, SoonTM. We'll eventually have a more in depth character creator and be able to sculpt our appearance similar to how they are made in Eve.
27) Can I own an MCC? A war barge? Do war barges stay in space when the owner logs?
Yes. Yes. Undisclosed.
28) Where are all of the items, dropsuits, etc I own in relationship to the EvE universe? Does all my stuff just follow me around?
It's complicated. Assets are handled differently in dust than in EVE. Every item you buy on the market is not actually the item itself, it is a blueprint. (Usually BPCs, being expended on a death.) Dust mercs move around via jumpclones, and their blueprints are able to travel with them. However, the materials to make them are another matter entirely. These materials will usually be provided on site by the corporation hiring you or the corporation you are part of. (In hisec NPC matches you'll only need to pay for the blueprints, the NPC corp covers the material costs)
29) Will DUST players be able to come into a EvE corporation office? Is that even in the plans?
There will be no real difference between the two. A dust corp can have eve players, and eve corps can have dust players. In order to take full advantage of all the roles and such, you'll need to have members from both games.
30) Can somebody explain to me how skillpoint accrual works? It's some kind of combination of SP you earn in matches and SP you get passively? How are match SP calculated?
The exactl SP formula is undisclosed and is changing next build. Active SP (Earned in matches) is affected by your performance in the round. It is not the amount of war points you earn that round, but it is related. The better you do in the round, the more SP you will gain. Passive SP is always earned no matter if a character is in a match or logged out, or in their quarters. The passive rate is about 1 SP every 3.5 seconds, or about 23k SP a day. |
