So far in this beta MOST of the logistics players i see are playing a pseudo combat medic role. But will the introduction of the Crusader suit shift them to more of an engineer role (assuming crusader suits have equipment slots)?
Crusaders from what I've heard/read so far is the most non-combat of the suits, even more so than logistics, with the buffs/debuffs; squad leader responsibilities and then if you throw on a repair tool and an injector.
Of coarse there would still be some logistics medics but i could see the class shifting more towards dropping uplink/nanohives, setting up REs on objectives, ect.
If that is the case what are some engineer specific modules/equipment you would like to see? |

Personally i think it would be cool if there was a deployable mini installation, some variations could be;
Anti personel turret - mostly focused on damaging enemies
tank turret - deals smaller damage but have much more health
anti armor turret - effective against tanks
anti aircraft turret - effective against air vehicles
mini supply depot - carries less ammo than a supply depot but more than a nanohive, also allows for change of suit like a supply depot. |

I think Logistics suits have HUGE potential to fit a lot of various roles. I mean, my logi fits are more focused on damage and survivability, with no focus on team support. My main scout suit on the other hand runs with a nanite injector and a repair tool. Crusader class should be interesting, that's for sure, and will really promote sticking together instead of running off to Ramboland by yourself. |

I think that only the logistics suit should have multiple equipment slots, I have not gotten proto suits so I am not sure about them
the lower tier suits are as follows I believe: Heavies 0 Scouts 1 Assault 1 Logi 3
I know proto logi has 4 i beleive
I think that by limiting the other suits to 1 equipment slot, it will allow the logistics to play and increasingly valuable role

I guess the big question is if the logistics suit should have a defined role or just a complete jack of all trades. |

Personally I could see the crusader class getting more into the drop uplink and possibly even nano hive area. If they put a huge emphasis on leadership, will the crusader have time to preform logi duties like rezing and reping. Thus leading to a higher need for a medic logi. But that's only one way it could shake down.
Then again there could be a whole other gear set to go with the crusader like Kryptix mentioned, so who knows. |

Logistics suits may get an actual role bonus later on, but for now they're just suits with more equipment slots than normal. |

whatever happened to those small blaster turrets from the 1st build man lookin back there were alot of things better about the 1st build gameplay wise than now tbh
turret camping was never a problem as large turrets could of gotten flanked and operator taken out so they couldnt just sit there and be safe
turrets we got now are just scrub friendly
small turrets were also around that presented nice little fortifications
2 part skirmish maps, altho i LOVE skirmish 2.0 as its more BF2142 id love to see some multi stage maps brought back |

If that is the case what are some engineer specific modules/equipment you would like to see? I think they'll pretty much fulfill the same role as Command Ships in EVE, which provide gang bonuses with a killer tank and crappy dps. You'll still need logistics suits to keep people up and repped. |

Fairly certain there was a dev blog which mentioned this. They equip Link Modules which boost the stats of the people around them, sacrificing their own defenses to boost those around them. They need to be fast enough to keep up with most units, so I imagine they'll have similar speed and defenses to that of an assault suit, probably with only a light weapon, no sidearm, maybe a single gear slot.
In that regard logistics will really need to keep the command suits alive since they can make or break a group.
I will disagree with you in one regard that I think the pilot suit will likely be the least combat oriented, at least for infantry. I expect vehicle boosting modules, no gear, weakest defenses in the same, and a sidarm only. Granted pilot suits are not meant to be infantry combat, but I'm just splitting hairs. |

Logies should get an equipment item that deploys as a little sentry turret.
There should be two types: A plasma turret for infantry, and a rocket turret for vehicles.
They would function the same way as automated turrets, but with much, much smaller pew pews. |

That is true, i was referring more towards those tight spaces or under roofs where installations can't be dropped into. |

YES! this! scout medics are awesome. thats what i run 95% of the time. a medic needs to be able to move quick. get in, get them up, then run to the next person. logis make better medics if the squad sticks together, but not by much. |

I wonder out of the Logi or the Command which will lend itself most to eWar, at present I lean toward Command but it'll be interesting to see how that plays out. If it is the command I wouldn't be surprised to see the Logi stay mostly as is (command will have other gear to fit). I suppose we'll see :) |

I think most of the discussion here is pretty spot on. What i read about the pilot suit sounds just right, the logi stuff about the automated turrets sounds perfect! That makes perfect since since the nanite injector isnt suit specific. I suppose in time the suit could have a bonus to it though.
What i would like to see the command suit turn into is a logi suit but with the ability to fit squad bonus modules into its equipment slot, these items would have huge requirements for cpu/pg but the command suit would have a suit bonus to reduce this so that the modules could only be fit to this suit. |

Everything depends on the specs those crusaders suit will have. My opinion is that they will come with major kickbacks as they can buff an entire squad.
Something like no equipment, restrictions on some modules, speed. Anything.
If not, all members in any squad would only use Crusader suit and buff each other. So wait and see ^^ |

Yea i'm assuming the squad bonuses will go into module spots, but who knows.
and i could definitely see restrictions on the suit such as no sidearm, or maybe even no grenades. Heavy suits not having equipment is kind of annoying, i hope they don't do it again. |
