Someone was doing this in EVE, turned out it was a scam artist, i wasnt suprised always someone in EVE scamming someone
There was an official event for this in eve, and was posted by a GM. When it comes to asking for money and donations like they have in past events for fundraising, I am sure they did not allow it to be a scam....
However, that being said.. Eve is a dirty dirty tough world, and it wouldnt suprise me if some sick bastard would see dollar signs off some guys death and his families struggle as a way to scam others outside of that official event |

In Seleene's words: "Sean made the world we all *play* in much more dangerous while simultaneously making the world we all *live* in that much safer." RIP Sean, fly safe VR.
I didn't know him personally. I have encountered him a few times in the past, and have heard many things about him through others. I am sure his family will really appreciate all the support and encouraging words people have given them over the last few days. Tragedy happens around us all day every day, it's a fact we all live with and face at some point. And at times like this, if you have been effected by the lost person and his family is grieving. Leave them a few words , and if your able to , send a donation to help his families future. This site has only been up a couple days, and the community of people who were impacted by VR or felt compelled to help seans family out even not knowing of him have generated a nice sum of money that will secure a future for his children. Of course they will recieve some sort of benifits from the government and maybe personal insuarance ( not sure on how combat death works with that) but those take time, sometimes a long time.. to be recieved...which in the mean time can cause debt to pile up. From what I have gathered sean really wanted a bright future for his kids, and knew the importance of greater education. These funds raised will help keep that goal of his alive, even if he doesn't remain.
To conclude this, all I have to say is : Sean VR smith, friend of many, foe of few, you will be missed but will be remembered more. Take care, and fly safe o7 we shot many blues for you |
