So I was watching this gameplay, posted on October of 2009, and this game looks so much more epic, don't get me wrong, what we play now is a great game, but the designs on the HAV shown at 00:50(I think that's and HAV) and the LAV seen at 01:18 looked so much more epic, and that map had such a better layout than the the current fields that seem to be strewn with random boxes and turret installations that we have now for maps. Plus, the overall scale of this short video seems to be much greater than what we have now. Just remember this was posted on 2009 in October, just short of three years ago. |

Yes, but the majority of that video looks to be scripted. All all cg animated and no gameplay... It would be cooler that way though... |

Horned wolf is right that was actual game play, what logi posted is a scripted engine using ingame existing assests on a non-ps3 machine. |

What you see now is BETA TESTING! not show all of your cards to everyone. What u see now is just enough to test the mechanics of the game not sell it. You should not expect to see anything epic in a true beta. |

My main point, that it was posted just shy of three years ago, still stands on Horned's video. The weapon design has changed, but that's about it. CCP could have made this game like the trailer I found in that span of time, but they decided to go in a massively different direction than the trailer I posted suggested. |

I do agree more cover is needed, but can't they just program the map generator to have more spikes and small hills in landscape to act as cover? EDIT: Current AR is ugly. LAVs are boring visually now, and were boring before. They look too much like Earth vehicles, I would prefer a more strange and scifi design like a hovercraft. That HAV in the trailer looks pretty badass, might be an upcoming Minmatar one. |

From that video the 2009 demo; I would say Dust514 has improved a lot, but that the demo itself has a few mechanics that have been removed for the time being. Not that I am not glad to see nooby-tubes go away. I would still like to see weapon modification and customization be implemented, or return(ed). A lot of things to remember for the demo though is that it was a very closed enviroment, and thus a lot less stress, and easily glossed for a shiny, and simple look. I noticed a lot in that demo that it look slugish, and very basic, but that a lot of the textures were overly glossy, and/or basic.
Anyway Dust514 is better now, minus the connection issues, and stress issues that come from these testings, and data build up. The build we're in is limited, and sadly it's redlining. A new build with a new, or better compression rate should help that. Plus the coding should be moving foward meaning less clutter, and filler -- essentially jury rigging. |
