This may seem pretty obvious but if a dropships lands near you then please get in it. If I've gone through the effort to land right in front of you then I'm probably going to fly you closer to an objective and let you gun.
One of the reasons I hardly ever fly a dropship is because people just don't get in and so I'm just a huge metal brick flying around |

This is why I always fit a mobile CRU in random games. I never land and if people want in, the can spawn in. |

At the moment dropships are deathtraps, no wonder people won't get in them.
They were never meant to be gunships to begin with, but with the latest changes to resistance amps and peoples focused training in AV to counter tanks, dropships are particularly easy to shoot down. There are a small handful of dropship pilots that can keep their ship alive, but by doing so spend a good deal of that time away from the battle. When they are on the field, it's all about juking and ducking behind something to avoid missiles (both of which are bad for gunners).
If you are landing to pick people up to take them somewhere, you should be on voice comms with that team, otherwise only a fool would hop in for the short ride. |

either they park the dropship on the top of a tower and spam rockets down below or they go around the battle so fast they are ineffective. if they stay still for too long swarms immediately come after them. |

Ikr? I had that problem all the time, but now that I put in a mobile CRU, most people just spawn in it, which leaves me with this-
When the dropship you're in is circling around something (such as a tower with a sniper on it) SHOOT IT!
Otherwise, this is pretty much the list of priorities for shooting at (#1 means it's the first thing you should be shooting at)-
- Other dropships
- HAVs (unless the dropship has a blaster turret)
- LAVs
- Groups of infantry
- Individual infantry
After that, just hang tight. If you AREN'T a gunner though, try jumping out when the dropship goes over a turret, CRU, NULL cannon, supply depot, etc and hack it.
Dropships magnify how good or bad your team is- if the team is horrible, it gives the other team tons of free kills; however, on the rare occasion that a team is highly coordinated, a dropship is EXTREMELY effective. |

Not a lot of people seem to realize they can jump out at a great height and land safely. I've had a dropship full of people and I'm hovering over an objective waiting for them to jump out, then I land it and they all jump out. It's a real nuisance because that time is meant to be used flying as fast as I can away from that objective before I'm shot out of the sky.
Also, I read somewhere I can kick people out of my vehicle? How do I do this? I'll just chuck everyone out over an objective next time. |

the only way to survive in a dropship at the moment is to fly above 400m to simply evade swarm launcher lock ons. And fly over objectives. |
