The combined range and splash made standing on the hill out of range of everyone else kinda hard.

If anything there should be fewer since they aren't going to be run down. the loads of people that were taking their tanks and mounting them on a hillside to nail everyone that had no way of touching them are doing the same thing with charged snipers. only thing that bothers me is the inevitable one shot kill they all have. no matter where they shoot you, you die. then you go out of your way and get behind the chickens you proceed to pump assault rounds into them laughing the entire time.

This effect only becomes harder for snipers the closer targets are. If you are 200m away and run I'm a straight line ill probably kill you, but closer than 100 zig zaging can make things hard for us if we miss the first shot.

I've just managed to use my firsts non-militia suits so i actually have no idea of the skills needed to use tanks and vehicles in general

It's very much possible that the surge of noob snipers is related to the surge of exploding noob tanks :) Being caged up in a tank for so long, You're gonna have to give them time to adjust before joining the wild ;)

I've sunk all into sniping and nothing else (512k SP for one level of sniper operations...that one was hard), and I see plenty of unskilled snipers using militia or AUR stuff. Luckily they cannot compete with someone who is invested, such as myself, so they aren't taking my kill area and just act as free kills for my teammates.

At the least standard gear.

Agreed, though it is SO satisfying when you snipe a gunner out of the ship. It's a nice challenge.
