I was playing just fine a few months ago, but I quit for a reason I don't remember.
Now I'm back, and the lag is HORRIBLE!
I can't play a single match!
Before that it was completly fine!
I have all the needed ports open, and my connection speed actually went up from before (it was 5, now its 50).
The only difference that I see is that I could pick the europe server before, but now there is only the instant battle thing. |

Yes, I agree. For me it is nearly unplayable since the last hotfix :( |

I have a very solid connection and it seems ok until you enter combat and on mine at lease in a dual, the opponent can be warping a few feet at a time. I also had it that I am walking, i lag for a second right as i enter a a fight and when i unfreeze i am half dead or dead, also i have shot at people, had their shields make impact marks but they show no damage........ this is one of the main concerns I have for this game right now. I don't consider myself the best by any stretch but i am doing terrible because the lag is horrid. I just hope this is their main concern because it doesn't matter how good the game is if there is this much lag. |

I agree. I was in a gun fight and just as I was begining to fire at my opponent, my controller vibrated as I shooting then my reticle froze as did he then he warped a few feet away. He only warped when I started shooting though and it's been like this throughout the day. I hope CCP reads the forums because I'm very dissapointed with the game so far.
"Instant Battle"? More like "Wait for Battle"! I die so often that I feel like I spend more time waiting to enter/spawn in battle than I do actually playing the damn game! |

i found it was better when you could pick american or european server........ not sure how instant battle picks people but i do know this needs to improve before launch, the game itself is coming along very nicely, but the lag is a sore spot for me at least.
I find the game almost unplayable as it is. |

Well that's interesting... after updating with the hotfix, I tested for an hour or so just before downtime and the game was far less laggy for me, and I rejoiced  .
Then I tested again approx 20:00 - 21:00 GMT. Ultra-lag, mainly kicking in when my sights are *almost* on an enemy (presumably this causes some processing to start which dragged things down) including 2-3 second screen freezes.
Tried again this AM (08:00 - 09:00 GMT) and lag's still alive and kicking.
Rejoicing appears to have been short-lived  I'm UK-based, BTW. |
