Isn't that what they called tanks? :P
That said, after having played on all sides of the fiels, I can say this: tanks are dying way too easily atm, even the weakest swarm launchers are too strong, the Forge seems to be useable again, and armortank < shieldtank.
I spec'ced into tanks for the sole reason of having a decent AV weapon, but I'll be damned if, of all the AV weapons, we buff the Average Joe one. We have AV grenades, which require a 4x skill. We have Forge Guns, which require a 5x skill (heavy dropsuits) and a 2x skill, plus wearing a bloody heavy suit. Why do we buff the AV weapon that literally anyone can fit (and already has a free version of), rather than the ones that need some kind of specialist training (and investment/risk)? |

Actually, EVE is several thousand years in the future, in another galaxy, after a longass dark age of pure survival. Anything they can't do that we can can be attributed to being lost in the dark age. Like the art of building ladders. |

They have no ladders or functioning doors, nor so they understand how to gyro-stabilize vehicle mounted guns. If it isn't a blank check, then they bounced that sunnovakitten a long time ago. |

Plus it takes two shaped charges in more or less the same spot to puncture the armor and do any real damage. Fire a Swarm at an M1 and you may cripple it, but it won't really look worse for wear. |

And future missiles can have shield generators with the shields geometrically shaped to pierce armor and bypass shields. And future missiles can also have an EMP component or even payloads of their own nanites that specifically search out and kill enemy nanites. But whoops I forgot the denizens of New Eden are retards who for some reason never advanced their weaponry with their tanks.
Somebody doesn't seem to understand EVE missiles. They are constructed from nanites as they are loaded, hence why so many can fit into such a small cargo space. They are also rather cheap and basic: Cost efficiency is the name of the game in a world where death is obsolete. You also seem to have your own idea about what nanites are, and if there were indeed 'hollywood acid' nanites fighting, then maybe we should have DUSTmotes 514 on the Vita for those engagements. The weaponry in New Eden is very similar to our own, but was not advanced as quickly as armor systems. Think of it this way, I can either improve my weapons until everything including myself dies in one hit and we all lose, or I can attempt to increase my nation's army's logevity by creating armor failsafes, shielding screens, and neural uplinks to reduce crew losses.
We already have EM missiles. We have explosive rounds. We just haven't implemented them on a minor scale yet. Remember, the revelation of the chip that allows DUST Mercs to survive their demise is new, and this Beta for DUST is in fact the trial runs for the man portable weaponry.
