I've been a player since early beta and have loved the direction the game has went in, up to the last update. I hadn't played in a couple weeks, and before the latest update an ar cost roughly 10-12,000 isk. When i logged in I had enough skill points to get a prototype ar, so after upgrading I realized that the prototype ar cost 77,000 isk, and I know that the market has not been integrated between eve and dust as of yet, and with such a price increase I am very worried about the integration. Of the online games I have played, auction houses which sell for in game currency are incredibly over priced by upper tier players solely because they can do so; and I know many eve players who have agreed that there are long time, eve, players who have the isk and ability to sway and flood the market with overpriced items. Keeping an eye on the eve forums for a while I have noticed a large number of players who are upset about dust being ps3 exlusive and not wanting to integrate with console players who are just looking for a new fps, and will more than likely do whatever it takes to ruin the game for said players. But my main concern in all of this is, whether or not ccp, unlike the majority of online games, will take action in any way to prevent this or stop the aformentioned from continuing once it starts. Would like to hear other's thoughts on this, no trolls as this is a legitimate concern for the game's survival, because if nothing is done I don't think the fanbase will continue to be as strong for very long. |

So is your concern about the high price of Prototype gear - set as a balancing issue so you're not constantly using it - or with the game being PS3 exclusive..?
No my concern is about the high price difference, and how much so it will change when the two games are linked together. Because I understand the need for balancing the weapon and vehicle prices so that there aren't 4 high level tanks on one team roaming the map adding up k/d ratios. My concern is if the market has increased as much as it has just now with the average map gaining you around 100,000 isk (most are above, just using that as an average), than what will the market fluctuate to when the eve players who loathe the idea of console players being within their realm do to make it nigh impossible to purchase products in market. And when said players do attempt to make things very hard to own, will ccp distinguish itself from other ftp online games and actually take action against players purposefully hurting the gain of the playerbase. |

But since you are just trolling the game forum. I know you have no essential point, but I might as well ask... Whats your problem with Dust 514? What is your point??
You are not thinking this is awesome? That you get to be part of a massive beta... Not only a massive beta, but this game is redefining shooters. HALO4, is even trying to mimic it right now. But then its ONLY co-op. Playing against AI.
There will be only one dust514 but any other game that comes out next will only be like Dust514. Cross-platforming ... Integrated shooter inside a massive network. Most lil Mass multiplayers... Are pure co-op and you are playing against AI. Even then you do not have a impact in that game world, you only have a story line to follow. You actually play as a soldier in this game... You are part of the lil game world, not just running a storyline.
Why are you whining for?
No, I have the utmost respect for this game and I absolutely love it, otherwise I would not post my concern. This game is a massive thing for ccp to accomplish with so much detail to every level. I am just stating my concerns for what stubborn eve players who have been members for year upon years with a grudge against a console game based on their beloved game, will try to do to stop the progress of the game. If you took it as "whining" then I should've been more clear; I love the fact that 12 year olds with their parents money won't be able to log in and dominate the game, (cod (cough)); my point of the topic was to try to see what the preventative measures would be that ccp would take to prevent such things. |

And "Droopy(lil sad, cartoon dog)" and insulting me by calling me a troll? How can you claim I have "no essential point"? Because there won't be anyone against this game in the eve universe? Or that problems won't arise that ccp won't have predicted because they were busy celebrating the release? Much love for ccp but you really think there won't be consecutive shut downs of the server after it comes out of beta due to unforseen problems? Maybe for example, um I don't know, like the loading screen of doom that few could get past? |
