Actually if there are ppl similar to me, then the way this AUR/isk thing shakes out is going to decide whether I play this game or not. How old are you ?What is this recent trend in people online thinking that these games are supposed to be free and there the same one that hardley even play the game and also ***** about lag.....HELLO NO ONE IS PAYING FOR THE SERVER TO BE MAINTAINED!!!!!!! You got 2 lives for Street Fighter when it first came out in the arcades.....what in the hell is the matter with you people when in the whole history of games have they ever been free to play. Go up to one of the carnies you know the ones that look like they've been awake for 3 days on meth and tell him you wanna pitch at the bottles for the biggest bear for your girl(if you Have one) and you want as many chances as it gonna take for free............see what he says. Some people are complete and utter dumb A$$es I swear to god.....Im sorry man but if your not contributing monetarily to the upkeep of the server, the hourly wage of those technicians,maintenance/replacement for the hardware, advertising, development of the game and dlc............then you leaving is no great loss to the community...dont let the door smash ya in the a$$.GTFO so I dont have to hear all the pissing and moaning....Thats my message for all theUnemployed, waffle eatin, mother basement dwelling neck beards.
so you are saying that people that don't buy AuR shouldn't play the game, and/or that they count for less then any other player as far as any consideration dealing with the game, its content and developer acknowledgement?
allow me to point out that Space Invaders gave you 3 lives :P and that if you knew the arcade owner they could just open the machines and give you as many games as you wanted.
When you play games with carnies, the prize you get is worthless then what you payed to play.
Telling people that even though a game is free to play, but that a dichotomy exists whereby people that buy Aur/items have a say and people that don't have no say.... creates a very bad atmosphere, one in which, I would choose not to buy aur out of disrespect for an obvious money grab whereby the producer of the product obviously had no respect for their customers nor their product..... but only for the mighty dollar.
That company is called EA... and hopefully CCP does not go that way...
you sir... should go DIAF :P |

Jin Robot wrote:DUST Fiend wrote:Jin Robot wrote:You guys must not have been killed by thukker nades yet then This is a specific item in need of rebalancing, not an example of why AUR is bad Naw dude, its an example of how slippery a slope having non-cosmetic items that you can purchase with real money is. It may not be Pay to win to its fullest, but it isnt a completely level playing field. I am expressing concern over this subject because if CCP is not careful it could end up being pay to win.
I think/hope CCP learnt from EVE that players can get uppity.
The trick for CCP is to make AUR items attractive, but not to create an imbalance, yeh its a slippery slope.
Plenty of interest has been made towards cosmetic items/changes for aur, I'm sure such will be available soon enough, most likely shortly after release when DEV time is under less demand from the game itself. Eventually DUST should be getting the EVE avatar creator- and maybe even one day social interaction between avatars, at which point sales of vanity gear should pick up appreciably.
Even given such as a long term plan, no doubt CCP will still think on AUR consumables as the main DUST earners, and as always the player base should monitor, alongside CCP, the AUR/isk item base for any inconsistencies.
As far as the OP goes, "being real" about this situation, requires some notion of concern for what should be a great game, and whether or not it will be ruined by people with more disposable income then common sense.
Play Fair, be honest with yourself, have fun. It is only a game. |

If you aren't spending money then technically you aren't a damn customer. You're a .............. well Ill let you fill in the blanks, I can't be nice and fill it in. People seems to get all butt hurt around here when you're honest with them, kinda like they just got gang raped in prison.
customer |-êk+Öst+Öm+Ör| noun 1 a person or organization that buys goods or services from a store or business : Mr. Harrison was a regular customer at the Golden Lion | [as adj. ] customer service. 2 a person or thing of a specified kind that one has to deal with : the fish is a slippery customer and very hard to catch | Jon won over Lucie's father, but her mother is a tough customer.
actually everyone with an access to DUST 514 technical support is a customer.
and certainly everyone playing the Beta and later the game are all consumers of the game/beta.
Unless CCP specifically announces that AUR buyers are to get preferential treatment, it is fairly safe to assume we all have a say in DUST 514, you don't have to believe it, you can believe what you want... I'm fairly sure by your tone and attitude you aren't a representative of the company.

DEVs When are the passive boosters hitting the market?
if DUST was a sub i'd consider it, but it is advertised as F2P... are we not supposed to be testing this beta?
well I'm doing my part by not using AUR gear and providing numbers towards that end.
AUR gear is opt in, don't be thinking someone is cheap or selfish for not opting in, and as far as being entitled or not, I was sent an invitation to test the beta by CCP, I joined with the rest of the EVE players :P
