Hello,
I just started playing this beta about 9 days ago. So far I'm very impressed. When I started I took a couple days to figure out my own play style, strengths and weaknessess. I currently run a logi suit fitted with a shotgun, repair tools, nanohive, and drop uplinks. I usually place my uplink at a key point on the map, whether it be near a highly fought over objective or in a hard to reach area of the map. I tend to roam in the near vacinaty of the uplink to make sure we spawn in safety. I have found that by keeping that spawn point secure I still rack up quite alot of kills. I typically land in the top 4. With how this game is built I see the potential for a lot of different roles. I find the lack of people willing to defend an objective the number one cause for lost matches.
So I ask what is your play style and favorite role? |

HUZZAH
With the lack of defense on a lot of objectives I am getting a whole lot better taking on 1v2s and 1v3s. |

I think as time progresses you will see lots of different team comps in this game. You almost need a little of everything in order to be successful. What really makes me happy is Dust has the ability to bring in non FPS gamers. For example my close friend is not exactly great at FPS games, however is ******* fantastic at driving games. He just started cruising around in a LAV, and the stuff he can pull off is amazing, a true asset to any team. |

A good dropship pilot is a must imo. I get the feeling some people are just scared of using vehicles. I laugh when I see a guy on foot running 500m to take an objective at the start of a match. |

You mean you don't kill everyone on board by crashing into the ground? It is a terrible feeling spawning in a ship that is going down. |

Communication is a must in this game. A group of average players with communication/ organization with come up on top every match. Being able to tell your dropship buddy to give you cover while you hack an objective or to have him drop in more dust bunnies to help is HUGE. |

Baal Roo wrote:My main fitting is a scout with AR, SMG, and Gauged Drop Uplinks. I place 1 uplink in a well defended spot (or on a supply depot), then make a run around the edge of the enemy position and try to get the second one in a good spot to allow the rest of the team to come in from behind/flank with heavier more assault based loadouts. Once I've got my uplinks placed I'll engage the enemy and respawn with an injector in place of the uplinks.
That's how it should be done. Amen |
