Beta Testing is an essential part of game testing to ensure that the final product is as balanced and bug-free as possible.
when I have been accepted into a Beta test, I consider it an honor and a privilege to help make the product the best it can be.
Over the years however it seems that gamers treat Beta testing more like early access to a game, and less like the quality assurance activity it is meant to be.
Im seeing activity on the forums that seems more like entitled complaining, rather than constructive criticism.
Perhaps its just me, but I would like to see less drama and more constructive dialogue.
thanks for listenting. Well while you actively blame a population of the people in question for treating a [beta] as a glorified demo; you have to also realize that a large number of these developers and publishers are the ones who started down that road first. Turning a [beta] into just that a glorified demo. It's been something happening for quite a bit now. It just did not start recently. This is a real [beta], but then you have games like -- SOCOM4, Battlefield3, KILLZONE3 -- and others whom are guilty of this. You can also blame programs like PlayStation Plus (the coupon book, and the couponers) for this trend also. Using the incentive of access to these qoute on qoute [betas] in a bid to garnish more sales for their program. As for the people in the community -- blame society, or the educational systems.

Blame Canada. Ha-ha. You know it's funny you say that; I just watched South Park: Bigger Longer and Uncut on Netflix for the first time in a couple of years. MAC (Mothers Against Canada). Ha! Also -- Blame Canada!
That movie stands the test of time. 10/10 |
