Give us 3 weeks when we have corp battles. Give us the time to create a core base of players who have the tactics down, and give me the chance to have some dedicated AV who match tanks in AV skill points. Give us the opportunity, and we'll give you the show. Zerglings > Tanks. |

We are in a TESTING PHASE, tanks are over powered right now because they need to be tested that way. Holy Moley, it is needed to test extremes so the game can be more balanced when it releases. I'm glad people are so turned on by tanks right now. When they do [and believe me they will] get nerfed, everyone who over speccs for just operating a tank is going to screwed when they have to act as infantry. I would say it would be best to practice shooting at things to get used to how this opperates as a first person shooter. The fundamentals for shooting stuff with a gun - I don't feel - Will be that different when we hit release. That is an opinion though and we all have specific ways in which we like playing.
Guess what? EVERYTHING NEEDS TO BE TESTED!
So keep playing your tanks, just don't ask for a hold on a nerf just so you can get a slightly higher K/D spread then your buddy. You should welcome a nerf so you can become a better tank driver as we get closer to open beta and things are more balanced. |

And where I have problems with the incessant tank nerf whiners is that we don't even have all the AV modules available yet. Trust me, the webbers alone are going to be a REAL problem for tanks as it is. Why? Because the main defensive tactic for a tank is mobility. In Dust, a stationary tank quickly becomes a DEAD tank. Pave the road with webbers, and the tanks are going nowhere.
I've seen this in EVE. A fleet of up to 50 interdictors bubbled up a massive fleet of 16 super carriers long enough for the friendly heavy guns to arrive and kill them. I know, I was there. The webbers will be used by fast scouts, and once a tank is locked, the heavy AV guys march in, and slaughter it.
So don't nerf tanks. Adjust a few of the most grossly unbalanced items and bugs (If I recall, Shields Amps, and rocket launcher RoF/Splash), but as a whole the tanks don't need any more nerfing. For now. |

im not sure about the whole tank nerf thing, at the moment i run proto forge guns and its not the speed od the tanks thats the problem, its spider tanking or a huge amount of EHP alot of the lower end tanks i can take down solo (which as a dedicated AV guy with an expensive suit i should be as my shiny fitting costs the same as a cheap tank) but when you have spider tanking marauders this is when there is a problem.
also since the wipe i have not seen any Black ops HAV's so i dont know how strong a tank these guys have i think in the next couple of weeks before the new build we will see these tactics and stronger tanks and then this will give us an idea of how strong tanks really are.
and going back to the webbers this game is no where near done so if the webbers does mean death to tanks im sure things will change as CCP wants people to use tanks as they create a huge ISK sink for the people using tanks and the people they destroy with their missle spam :) |

I play Proto Logi my friend, with an occasional Gunlogi I put 1.8 million SP in. <3 you
I ask that tanks not get a nerf because they are easily taken down now. Watch players like IDoc, and Youngcus with their AV loadouts... (which arn't even what their main SP are put into). Between the lack of defence at close range, swarms and the nanohive AV nade combo, you can see the players using tactics, even if alone, obliterating tanks.
More AV is being put into play, and when we leave the public instant battle arena - entering the realm of corp warfare, we will see tanks shredded to pieces. |
