How about, letting the infantry have fun in the little ambush maps, without having 3 HAV's running around the map.... it would be nice! LAV'S are fine in an ambush, Dropships too! but HAV'S... come on where's the fun with having 2-3 tanks in a tiny map space!!!! HAV's should only be Deployed in Skirmish!!!! |

Being a fairly new player who cant afford 1000000 isk tanks (nor do I wish to spend all game in one) it is really frustrating being in a game with 5 tanks roaming around destroying my team.
In Skirmish, you will constantly spawn near one which will immediately pick you off.
When the leaderboard at the end has the top enemies as 18/0 16/0 12/0 11/0 and 9/0, there is obviously a problem.
I think Tank limitations need to be put into place.
Then again this also applies to low levels being put against really high levels. When I only have 300hp with a gun doing 36 damage (skills included) and an enemy comes along with 700-800hp with a gun doing 50 odd damage, there is no way I will ever win that fight. (Sorry for going slightly off topic) |

Tanks are getting nerfed next patch. In my opinion, there should be some no tank/dropship Ambush battles for beginners in high security space. |

if you look at Dropsuit Stats... All dropsuits of them same kind, have same ARMOR and SHIELD startup, except some Type-II, they have a bit more shield at the expence of a bit of armor.... Ur MODS and skills will make the difference.. but yes Heavy Dropsuits startup with more armor and shield then Assault or Scouts, its normal... they have something else better then Armor or shield, like movement speed or stamina.... But yha its EZ to get those SCORES with a well Planned Dropsuit, if theres no HAV on ur ***! And no LAGG Spikes!
BTW: NANITE INJECTORS are usefull FOR ALL THOSE NOOBS WHO RUN AROUND WITH NANOHIVES AND DONT EVEN DROP THEM!!!!

I'm surprised people are willing to bring vehicles in on ambush maps. It's a real testament to the spinelessness of DUST players that someone can walk a HAV into the middle of a closed off compound surrounded by cover and instead of being immediately destroyed will instead rake in tons of kills. |

I am referring to me in an assault suit and an enemy in a heavy suit.
Their slower movement means nothing when they can unleash over 50% more damage than me with over 100% more HP. It can take me 20 bullets to put a guy down with my AR, while he could put me down in 6...
I understand balancing is still being worked on and there aren't enough people to truly balance each match, but it is so frustrating being put in such one sided games.
Maybe I am just to much of a noob at the moment. I have come from 3 years of almost pure COD and wanted a change. It is VERY different... |

Thats why we call it TEAMWORK.. ur not supposed to take down a heavy Dropsuit with an assault if u come in a close-cobat situation... with 1-2 Squad members with u, it will help alot!!! But long range... Heavy Dropsuits are Assault Meat, they cant really run or jump around!!! But i say people have to start working together in this game...

find a squad or even just one other person to fight with you. teamwork is not some dumb clich+¬, two people fighting together can fight like four people fighting alone. (then you through tanks in, but that a topic for another thread) |

Yeah, really need something in place for Tanks.. I'm sitting here typing this up as my entire team gets Decimated by a Tank... seems nobody has any Anti Tank stuff -_- Everytime you spawn, DEAD. |

If a team wants to commit an expensive vehicle to a fight and you aren't willing to do the same, why should you not lose? This game isn't about being fair in all situations... this game is about risk vs reward. They risk more, they *might* get more rewards from it. If they call in a tank, there's nothing stopping you from doing the same. Additionally, tanks are not that hard to kill given proper teamwork.
The whining going on in this forums is ridiculous... Either work as a team and be willing to tip the odds back in your favor (i.e. counter vehicles either with anti-vehicle weapons or vehicles of your own) and lose a match like you rightfully should. |

Well untill they fix HAV vs. AV Gear, Ambush would be nice Infantry and LAV's only... Dropships too!
Having a tag team of 3 HAV's and 2-3 Dropships on the opposite side in an ambush map is annoying.. u try attacking Vehicules and u get backstabed by infantry... and Snipers

I'm a firm lover of tanks, having stood defiant against all the proposed changes and nerfs of their stats.
I, however, fully support removing both HAV's -and- Dropships in the Team Deathmatch maps. They don't belong there at all. |

lolz dropships are worse then tanks with a decent pilot. Biomass and Communication are good examples of where a tank would not be reccomended because there is tones of cover for people to hide behind BUT in communication there is very little cover from dropships as there are only 2 enclosed buildings I remember last build dropships were really really annoying due to higher missile damage and the easy of which it was to fly them around. you already have vehicle restricted maps. biomass is pretty much IvI battles because unless everyone is fighting in the street the tank dude is not gonna get any kills |

I serioulsy hope they don't nerfbat the tanks, and have ranted quite a bit on keeping them controllable by a single player. And yes, I can and have raked in kills on Deathmatch maps some games (16/1 is fairly easy) while also being decimated by enemy tanks/dropships/heaps of heavies with missiles.
However, I totally agree that they have no place in Skirmish (or whatever the Team Deathmatch style map is) play. That mode shouldn't have anything but suits and LAV's. Will this mean I won't use them now? I'll happily use them now, as it's the only way to avoid 'spawn repeatedly in groups of 4+ enemies and get murdered immediately'-itis that is another problem that needs fixing. |

every thing will be tweeked between now and game release.. I like to with hold judgement on tanks being over powered at this point... When they bring in more anti tank weapons.. then it will be come clear if they are way to over powered or not... but the one person drive and shoot at the same time system needs to be addressed... |

I'm not much of a tank person, but you have to remember that they can't reach everywhere in those maps, and infantry have more room to hide.
On a random note, tanks ruined our fun in a REALLY cool ambush-
I was gunning for a dropship. We ended up getting into a fight with another dropship, which was dangerously close to us. After we *sortof* shot it down, it did one of those movie-like things where it spun out of control and into our dropship- taking it down with us. Awesomely, we almost all bailed and began fighting again on the ground; but here come the big mean-old tanks that run most of us over. |

It's more a testament to the piddlyness of AV weapons. A fully kitted out Shield or Armor tank can one shot everyone but heavies with just blast, where it takes an entire squad of guys similarly leveled gear with perfect coordination and the perfect fit to take out tanks with any consistency.

Oh man that's like screwing up and releasing some fatal neurotoxin and saying "Whelp, ahh just don't get close to that guy. We don't really have a cure for that yet. Sorry."
I know in real life we make things to counter a greater threat and then a bigger thing comes along and it just continues, but a game should be a little more balanced from the start rather than, "Here you take this pointed stick and run up and throw it at that M1A1! But Sir will it be enough? Ok fine, You 10 over there! Pick up your sticks where going tank hunting with this guy!!" |

Would you be happier with twice the amount of LAV's running people over or dropships farming from the skies?.
Remove all vehicles from Ambush, else you'll just push the problem to the LAV's or Dropships and the problem continues only in a different form. |

LAV"s are AV Meat i love them... Ez to kill with descent Av Grenades, Dropships can be a pain, but they dont have the same firepower then a HAV, soo they don't matter |
