Hi,
In other FPS games I've played, theres always been a lobby system, so you join one game, and when it finishes you go into the next game with the same set of people. This always meant if you were with a bunch of people who used comms, you just stayed with them. Or, if you found yourself playing with a load of cannon fodder, well then... :). It also meant that you always started a match at the start, rather than join half way through.
So it seems Dust doesn't work like that, or at least doesn't in the Beta instant battles, and I haven't been able to get into any Corp vs Corp ones yet. Is this going to stay the same in the release? Also, is there a way to stick with decent people? I was on a game earlier with a couple of fellow Brits on voice comms and it does make the game a lot more enjoyable. Just waiting for my new headset to arrive so I can join in properly.
Cheers,
Darren. |

not sure how itll work out in the end, since via eve dust is supposed to be a battle over planet resources for eve players, im gunna assume that eve players will have to put up merc contracts with isk rewards depending on what they wanna pay. so in that regard ppl may just pick matches based on which contract gave you the most isk, example 100 mill contract would pay your team better then 100k isk contract, so it would be a shame to get auto put into a contract that wouldnt pay ur fittings unless ccp sets a required isk minimum. honestly you'd wanna go to the higher isk match then stay with the same group of ppl.....if i really wanted a planet just to irritate someone i'd drop a bill contract np.....you do the math |

Really? I hadn't noticed. Whenever I finish a game it drops me back to my quarters and I never seem to have the same people in any two matches. Or do I have to specifically join a squad? |

You need to specifically join a squad prior to going into battle to stay in the squad after the battle. |

Press the chat button [select?], then scroll all the way down and choose the + option, create/join a squad, type in LFSquad (looking for squad) press x to join and there will be a plethora of players who communicate with each other and try to work as a team, it is recommended that you have a mic but they might let it slide if you're good at following orders. Use the community chat feature to request a squad invite. |

Also try exploring the NEOCOM. Press start and scroll down to social. You can add contacts, search for other players and so on there.
You can also create your own channel (i.e. chat) and invite people to it for squadding up, if you like them, and so on. |

So if I'm with a squad and we all press go to instant battle at the same time, we'll end up in the same match? |

Thanks for the help, I'll give that a try tomorrow. I always prefer it when people are communicating. I don't speak much, but happy to work together with others. :) |

#5 Posted: 2012.09.11 09:20 | Report Little Tip here. If you see some guys rolling together on the battlefield and you notice they have aspare slot in thier squad hop into it. Chances are that they made that squad up b4 the battle so you will then become part of it. Get on your mic and have a chat with em.
You will continue to be part of that squad after the game ends and might make new freinds.
