we need a way to logout and change characters i made a second character of a different faction then realised there was no way to logout and switch back to my first character without restarting the game |

Welcome to the way things are, man. EVE Online has a logout button, and guess what it does?
Hint: It restarts the client. |

Try adding an EVE character to your contacts list, you'll be automatically disconnected. |

no i mean u hav to go to the dashboard and fully restart the game not jsut got the ttitle screen i would a like a button to go to the title screen |

Even Eve brings you to the login screen and not the desktop. It may have been that way since the onset, but it would definitely be a nice addition to Dust to be able to back out to the character selection screen for people that play more than one character.

This is being addressed. The bed in your quarters will eventually act as a logout for your character. I saw it mentioned by a dev on the forums here, but cannot find the exact link. |

I swear there was a devblog post, but can't find it. Not to mention the sheer amount of monkeypoo you gotta sort through to find anything on here. So missing is 110% understandable. 
That was the best I could do w/the search. I did notice the bed is out in my quarters, so wonder if it's the next build. |

I have found the best way to "logout" of my character (or during a soft-freeze) is to simply bring up the XMB, highlight Account management, hit triangle, and sign out of the PSN. Within seconds the game prompts the user that they have been loogged off. So you just sign back in, exit XMB, hit X and start the initial loading sequence over again.
it might shave off a few seconds in comparison to quitting the game and rebooting it, as you don't have to go through the move junk, ESRB rating, and seizure warning stuff. |

I'm honestly surprised CCP didnt implement this function yet. Having 3 characters on one account definitely implies being able to quick swap between them. Must Have. |

. . . not really, -- when you hit the "log off" button in EVE notice how the client disappears and you see nothing but your desktop for a second? that's it exiting to desktop. then the game pretends that it is helping you by auto re-starting itself so you don't need to click play again on the launcher. . . saves you one mouse click,. . .
i agree that it is ridiculous not to have a proper logoff button but that's Eve for you, and it has propagated to Dust unfortunately. both games have a three character selection screen, but no proper method to switch between them.
the extra frustrating thing here is that it takes like 12 button presses and menus and client update checks and data downloads a skip-able movie and an animated title screen just to get to the character selection screen in Dust, when Eve has only 2 screens to get through [client launcher and logon] to get to character select.
It took years for CCP to add the fake logoff button to Eve after repeated requests from players, Dust is right on track. . .
uh oh. . .am i beginning to show signs of bitterness? D:
