Whats with this not moving when charging !! , they didnt move fast to start with now i can not take cover takes for ever to charge while your just a sitting duck while your pray - tanks ,lavs and dropships can run circles around you , yes i could use another forge gun but they dont pack anyware near the same punch , the heaver forge guns are now nearly redundent and the others dont kick enough ass to make them worth while against non paper vehicles , took me three shots to take out a lav the other day never mind a tank. Please take of this stupid non moving restriction off breach guns , give heavy forgies a chance , either that or ill move to a different weapon system , if i wanted to be a static gun implacement id go sit in one , I might be heavy infantry but im still infantry = non static , I mean tanks are powerful as they are unlimited ammo , multiple guns ability to move faster than infantry and one shot kills , faster fire vs heavy forge one gun , limited ammo , multiple hits to kill target , slow recharge and now cant move ! come on ccp for a class that was ment to be able to take vehicles on you have seriously kicked them in the balls , please at least get rid of the non moving limitation at least give me the ability to use cover !

I do feel that not been able to move while charging is bad, really bad, i have to stay out in the open for sniper, assault, tanks and butterflyes to hit me so i can land 1 shot. |

assault forge is your friend. look at stats next time you log on but i believe is something like (prototype) 1100 damage and 2.5sec charge for assault and 1890 damage and 6sec charge for breach.
yes the breach does more damage. but add in the charge time and the assault forge has a better damage output.
but for using the breach, which i still do on certain maps if i find a particular stubborn tank, dont stand in the open. watch the tank. figure out where it is headed. then set up behind cover for it and when it exposes itself fire. also you can jump while charging the breach for a littel movement.
assault forge allows you to move, just not very much and the charge is unable to be held so takes a little to get the aim down but once you do it is devastating. |

the main problem for forge guns for me is the range, i have sharpshooter trained to 4 , there was a drop ship spamming everything in the Plautus map on top of the tower, like all the cool kids do, and even stood close to the tower and shooting him with the forge gun did nothing, i tried from various angles to make sure the tower model wasnt getting in the way.
So i switched to swarm launcher (sorry a little off topic) and because the swarm launcher tracks to the bottom of the drop shipit pilled straight in to the tower :( so without training drop ships to go up there and kill him there is no way to get him so hes just getting free kills

I think something that might help is if the breach forge gun operator was immune to camera shake from enemy fire while charging and holding the charge. |
