Lol. This topic? Again?
CCP has indirectly hinted that it is a possibility that Dust may or may not possibly some day maybe be on PC perhaps. |

I believe Sony wouldn't like the game being ported. |

Does it matter if it's ported? The game already supports mouse and keyboard. |

Honestly, it is a likely possibility, but not within the first two or three years. If it lives for the next five years, and doesn't end up on PC, I'll be surprised. |

It will stay on PS3 for at least a year, but most likely longer. The point of an exclusive is that you can't find it anywhere else, so you buy a PS3 to play it. |

If anyone remember EVE Fanfest 2012's DUST presentations, CCP playing with the idea of featuring arena matches in DUST. An e-sport of sort for the entertainment of EVE players where EVE players can view and bet on DUST teams.
Following that logic, CCP might plan an *unplayable* DUST client for the PC, just for EVE players.
I am of the opinion that PC client may have advantages over console client based on the differences of input device scheme (kb/m vs DS3), and hardware superiority.
However, I'm contradicting myself since I have a feeling PS Move somehow have more pros than cons comparing to DS3 (I never used or touched a PS Move with or w/o additional accessory). Not all PC gamers have the best hardwares. I don't see (yet) anybody whining how disadvantaged they are with their budget PC against players with deep pockets.
So dear CCP, best hopes to what you decides on this matter in the future, if you choose to decide.
For the record, I'm an all time PC user. Thanks to DUST, PS3 is something I just recently owned since Sega Genesis. |

As it would then be in direct competition for profits with the mainstream game EVE, not to mention they could not upgrade the game beyond what a PS3 can handle... The chances of this being ported to PC are SLIM TO NONE.
Why?
Expectations of PC platforms: To always improve the game as years go on increasing graphics etc as baseline products improve. Expectations of Consoles: No graphics or baseline increases are possible till the next entire system is produced.
Not to mention it would then be in direct competition with EVE for playerbase, and the number of potential exploits they would have to guard against in a shooter game like DUST would skyrocket exponentially. Having a console game connect to a PC to play can leave the consoles vulnerable to intrusion. The Xbox version of Halo showed me this very well... and unlike Microsoft, CCP does not have an entire subset company dedicated to the production of antivirus and anti-intrusion software, so solving these discrepancies would take quite some time, I'd assume. |

I'd predict that Dust 514 will stay PlayStation exclusive at least until next generation consoles become more relevant. This is mainly due to the fact that Sony has probably worked out some sort of a exclusivity deal with CCP making the release on X360 and possibly next generation Xbox a lot less likely.
Fact is that Microsoft mostly acts like an ass when it comes to providing free content trough Xbox live and releasing and MMORPG seems downright impossible on their system due to rules and restrictions. This pretty much means that you wont be seeing any competent mmorpg on their systems until they get their **** together.
But PC version in the near future seems highly likely. Oddly enough Sony seems to be far less restricting when it comes to PC-PS3 features (e.g Portal 2, the new Counter strike game) and they even have released quite a few PC games themselves as SOE (Sony online entertainment: DC universe online, Planetside series, Free realms)
My fortunetelling orb tells me that PC version of Dust 514 will be released along with the 1st or the 2nd expansion for Dust 514. Along with PS3/PC cross-play features. |

I remeber when asked about dust on pc one of the guys said "who knows what the future may hold" Im starting to think it wasent dust he was talking about cause if you remeber they showed 5 bars each was a ip/new game 2 were unnaunouced. I think they may release another game in the eve universe were dust and eve players can actually meet face to face.A third-person/rts submarine and battleship game would be awsome.Eve and Dust players could fight on the same ship and have gaint underwater battles on oceanic planets. that way PC and PS3 both get 2 games in the eve universe with one exclusive to PC and One exclusive to ps3 and one they can both play together face to face. |
