Answers please. I've had game after game where I am winning things for my team. Pick up the slack FFS.
This is the second time I've tried to post this, so gonna do an abbreviated post. Sorry for the abruptness, just getting to the point.
1. Thanks for bringing this up. I don't understand squads and don't see people talking in them, so I have simply stopped looking. 2. I follow squad commands when they pop up, unless I'm working on my own objective (i.e., across the map). 3. Objective based matches can benefit from secondary tasks, like capturing clone drops behind enemy lines so your crew can flank, sneaking behind lines to draw enemy players from the rest of the team, hunting snipers, etc. EDIT: This can turn the tide of a battle and is rarely done. 4. I've stood ground with my teammates, only to get shot in the back because they weren't covering me. Kinda makes it hard to work w/others when I don't think they have my back. 5. I just learned last night that "group hacking" speeds up the hack. This has changed my tactic. 6. Squad leaders need to speak ASAP, especially when we drop in the game mid-match. I've checked chat a couple times, but nothing's ever said and I simply stopped checking. COMMUNICATION IS KEY. 7. Mods are confusing and costly. I am a former EVE player and still find the skills/mods a bit intimidating. I dropped 3mil on 50 mid-level assault clones last night alone. I priority list of skills (like learning skills in EVE) would go a long way. 8. Snipers should be a member of the squad, but are often camped somewhere else until someone like me hunts them down. 9. I have had many players heal me when I'm down, but just as many have done nothing. Waste of clones in the team deathmatch situation, and much easier to just respawn in objective-based matches.
I'm all for squad work, but not competent enough to run one, and don't see others actively attempting to when I'm in-game. Because of that, my only goal has been to win the match for my team and help out where I can. I don't need to be on top of the leaderboards. If I did, I would stick w/COD.
And to echo another poster's comment, how do I quit as squad leader? Until I have a better understanding of how they work, and they are properly utilized by other players, I do not wish to perpetuate their misuse. |
