I am sure that there is user error in this, but hoping I can find someone to help point out exactly where that may be. I just bought a Sony PS3 Bluetooth earpiece so that I can be a good little Gunner and be on coms. The PS3 says it sees the earpiece. I have PTT on. I even paid the 1Aur and bought a 30day UVT. But when I press the PTT button (Left D-Pad) I get nothing. I've tried press then talk, hold and talk, and I get nothing. So, I ask you this, what idiotic thing am I not doing? |

Is voice chat set to "on"? It's not on by default.
If it's on, you should have a little icon next to your name in whichever channel you have voice activated in (the green dot). |

Voice chat is set to on. PTT is set to on. I see no green dot however. When I press the let D-Pad all it does is move selection to the left. There is a chat bubble icon with a speaker in it for the chat channel I added (0k0d) however. |

You have to activate voice on a channel, and you can only have one at a time.
I don't know how UVTs work, but if you have problems, try a squad or team channel first. Join a game and either team or squad should have a green dot. You can change which is activated.
Also, push-to-talk button doesn't work when the channel list is up. Close it and then try. You should see a little green icon appear on the left if it's transmitting. |

Good call. So I activated voice in the channel, it now has green dot. But next to my name is the chat bubble with a red X through the speaker. Ugh. So... any other ideas?
Turning off PTT removed teh X, bubble lights green when I speak. So next thought is that no one else has mic. Going to get into a game (try anyways, server full) to find other mics. |

The bubble with red X means it's in push-to-talk mode. That's fine.
Close the chat view, push left and look for an icon to appear on the left near the bottom. |

As far as I can tell, I'm working now. But I seem to be the only poor soul with a mic on. *sigh* I was hoping to find a nice DS I could Gunner for. |

You need to find a squad mate with a mic before entering a game. Most mic users squad up beforehand and stay in their squad channel in matches. |

Well, later on (probably tomorrow) when I'm playing, you're welcome to fly with me. I fly a dropship and random gunners that aren't on mic aren't fun.
Check the channel LFSquad; one can usually find a squad there. I don't know if anyone's ever on 0k0d--last time I was there, I was all alone. |
