I've played a lot of shooters; shooters of all types. Both third person and first person. What seems to be the downfall of scifi shooters is the fact that the guns don't quite feel real enough for the average gamer. What might help this is more customization of the gun. Not talking Ghost Recon: Future Soldier depth, although that'd be great, but just the little things like different scopes and other attachments you see on today's guns. If today's guns are this customizable, just imagine what guns of the future are going to be like. Especially for mercenary types who don't get standard issue anything but do everything their way. Maybe even futuristic attachments would be awesome. Stuff like what Ghost Recon was going to do, a truly holographic sight which just floated above the gun.
Another thing. If we're all mercenaries, wouldn't we probably stylize ourselves? Stuff like 'tattoos' and such on our dropsuits? or just custom colors on our suits period. Things that would set us apart from eachother. |

Custom color thing might be something that you get to choose from pre-choosen palet or not at all, because CCP is pretty strickt about visual look of DUST/EVE. EVE players have for long time asked custom colorpalets for ships to no avail. There will be variation amongst different factions tho. |

Tattoos on the merc underneath the suit when we can make the look of the character to my our mercs picture.
It wont always be these suits you see on the forums, I hope
And the different looking suits are there, for those that pay for AUR and spend it on a suit they might lose in battle..
Most i know that have AUR suits are used just to walk around in MQ and WR with. |

@chris chance I agree with the customization of weapons because that would be really cool. I think there should be different types of clips for the pistols that have different effects on the target that you hit such as emp (shuts down the targets hud for a limited time on contact), freeze ("damage stamina") or heat (does a little extra damage to the target for a few seconds). |

There should definitely be a customization option because, like he said, we are mercs. We don't do anything by someone else's rules until they pay us. besides, having a custom paint job on a tank, dropship, or dropsuit would be completely awesome and provide a way for players to build some fame with their look. That way if you and your friends have been putting the hurt on for awhile and you all wear orange dropsuits or purple tanks, then people will know that they have a fight on their hands. it shouldn't cost aurum for the trivial action of changing the color of your dropsuit, especially if it is only to a couple of preset colors that the player doesn't really get to choose like it is now. |
