Now I realise that some of these have been put up before, some may have faded into obscurity, some may have been intensely flamed and put their OPs into shameful head hanging, but here is a list of 'Suggestions' that I have built up since first playing the DUST 514 Beta for many months now.
- Inspiration to operate as a team outside the Squad Leader's orders. Practically no Squad Leaders give Orders, know they are the Squad Leader, or know how to give orders. These orders should be explained better, and some UI HUD markewr should indicate who is the Squad Leader (ie. a Listing of your Squadmates in the HUD with the Squad Leader at top. However, in addition to this, a passive teamwork or objective bonus would inspire people not to go 'lone gun'. For example... you first cut the WP reward on Kills to 30... yes, i said it... do a similar thing to most othert actions, then give a 10 point bonus to WP Kills if a Squad member is nearby, another 10 if there's 2 Squadmates... and push it to 60 if your entire squad is nearby. Incentive to run with your squad? SURE! Incentive, even, to keep them alive!
- Secondly, limited Ammunition on Tanks. Yes, I've seen the arguments for built in Nano-hives etc. However, even Nanohives run dry, accentuated in this build, and Tanks, Dropships, and LAVs should be limited in this respect with an Ammunition Counter for each gun. When they run out, they must either get near a Supply Depot, or stop and enter a 'Reload' Mode that prevents guns from firing, and tank from moving. It doesn't however, prevent the driver and gunners from hopping out to defend the vehicle.
- Third. Implement a longer bleed out timer, and a 'body-drag' action that anyone can perform. Trying to revive a fallen comrade in the midst of a firefight is suicide for you, and the guy you're reviving. Allow people to drag they're comrade to a safer location (behind cover) and revive him there... and give us more time to do it.
- Fourth. Squad / Team Nav Markers. Something that either the Squad Leader or 'Team Leader' can put down that simply references where you want your squad to be. Or another squad to be. The squad command are fine for simple commands, but difficult to give once combat is joined, and useless for planning, or quick 'he's over there' situations.
- Flares / Smoke. A simple, point of origin location marker showing up on visuals. use as an S.O.S or as a signal for Dropship Support / HAV support.
The list is larger, but for now, I'll leave it at those.

EDIT: One Adding in this one was a definite. The UVTs... not a bad Idea CCP, but I'd like to see them applied a bit more, amicably. Have the ability to purchase AUR 'Channel' UVT that enable chat on your chosen channel. Ie, the Channel owner forks out an increased amount of AUR in order to allow everyone on that channel to use Voice Chat. |

Squad leaders should have a little green flag attached to their radar, and the radar ui (border) changed to the same green, this makes self identifying as squad leader in random games less suicidal-looking at team set up-ish.
Squad mates should have an altered Friendly indicator (arrow) of the same green, identifying who the squad leader is. no one outside of a squad needs to know who the leader is imo.
Green being close to aqua and blue, but clearly not.
all imho!

Here are a few ideas that I believe could improve the game:
1. Vehicle controls should be altered. I believe the driving controls should be R2 to go forward, L2 to reverse, left analog stick to steer, and the right analog stick to look around. Keep triangle to switch seats.
2. It is much too slow to switch to the sidearm. I actually wish it wasn't mapped to R2 as well. Triangle would be much better. Make the right analog stick switch stance. L2 melee and R2 grenade.
3. The reload animations are a bit too long in my opinion.
4. I think the maps should look different based on the atmosphere of the planet. Fire, Ice, Forest, Desert, Storms, Snow. You could also have ancient cities, refineries, villages, architecture of the different cultures, mines, etc. Variety is always nice and should set the maps apart.
5. All the classes should have unique weapons and abilities that help the team. Assault is useless right now.
6. Additional cosmetic variety between classes and enemies. Should be able to look at player and tell what class they are playing.
7. Aim assist and voice chat should be enabled by default.
8. Higher default looking sensitivity.
9. Camera should be farther away from character in HQ.
10. Improve textures and effects
11. Grenade indicator for friendly and enemy grenades. Make indicator different colors.
12. Hit boxes need to be adjusted.
13. Reloading while running would be great.
14. Stamina meter is a bit annoying, would prefer unlimited sprint.
15. Hold breath while sniping if not already possible.
16. More class based game play similar to battlefield but on a greater level so people work together more.
17. Engineers can build temporary structures such as gun turrets
18. Press down to open a scroll wheel to select a vehicle or structure with analog stick. Look to Star Hawk for inspiration.
19. Traditional menu would be nice with a server browser and from there you can choose to go your HQ. Would have all the features and options available when you press start. HQ feels sort of gimmicky to me since its so small.
20. Orbital drop system for spawning would be awesome. I know it is in both Section 8 and Star Hawk but it makes sense in this game since you are working for the Eve Online players.
I have a feeling this is going to be an awesome game when all is said and done. :) |

Though I think you're new to the game (if not I apologize) much of what you've said is either implemented, or has been suggested ALOT in the past.
The Stamina Meter is to preven Bunny Hopping tactics, The Class Based System goesd against anything CCP has ever made, you create your own class in this game, there are already Grenade Indicators. Red for theirs Blue for friendly.
Structures are dropped from orbit, called Installations (ie. Guns etc.) they are not yet implemented, but are being implemented.
As to reloading, unless you train your Reloading Skill for the class of weapon, it will remain slow. Train the skill, it gets much faster.
Note, I'm not flaming, but I'd appreciate it if forums are read before posting things that are already implemented in game.

The only issue with reloading is that you can't interrupt it when it's actually loaded. The reload doesn't count until the weapon is back down and aiming forward again, even though the new magazine is in a good half second before that.
I'd be happy if tanks and dropships couldn't get away so easily if they get into trouble. Right now, things go bad they run and there's nothing ground based infantry can do about it. All those swarms are now wasted as it'll rep up behind that random object all the way over there being perfectly safe.
I still want to spawn in the sky and drop in...
Yes on the longer bleedout time. Also being revived, last I actually checked, costs a clone. fix that. Also implement a Gears of War style crawling so people can get themselves out of the line of fire. |

I have just joined the closed beta (very recently). I have read multiple threads and i have been playing Dust 514 for hours on end. I have to say my three biggest suggestions are things that I've been seeing everybody else mention all over different threads and this one as well:
1 - The look sensitivity is WAY too slow, even at it's highest speed it takes over four seconds to turn a complete 360 degrees. I do not expect the sensitivity to be over the top super god speed, but when you enter a doorway it would be nice to be able to check your corners as you enter and not be flanked.
2 - Allow players to relocate their fittings in the listing to their choosing, so that they are able to have easy access to their most used fitting.
3 - Vehicles need to have limited ammunition. I really liked The Black Jackal's suggestion of having a reload process or (cool-down time).
Those are my top three concerns CCP, other than that I am really enjoying it so far, I look forward to the full release. |

Wouldn't mind being able to drag my buddies to safety - as long as I can do so with one hand and fire with my weapon in the other; albeit with reduced hip-fire accuracy and no ability to aim down the sight. |

How about if you can only use a Sidearm-class Weapon? Yes, it would make a Logistics running with a Assault Rifle, or other Light Weapon unable to fire, but Sidearms are designed to be used one-handed in many cases, while Assault Rifles, and Mass Drivers are not.
Also, adding to the list (I'll do this frequently)
- Destructable Environments. I don't know about alot of you, but sometimes you throw a Grenade, it explodes near a crate, and the crate is unharmed. Or Remote Explosives... what I would term, Demolition Charges, do nothing to the cround, or structure they are placed near...
- Vehicles wrecks that do not incinerate on destruction. I understand the need to reduce clutter on a battlefield, but tactically, destroying a tank along a road should stop the tank following it from coming down that same road until it had cleared (blown away) the obstruction.
- AV Mines, and Claymore Anti-Personel Mines. Limited Supply, requires equipment slots, high CPU and PG cost... but the ability to set these traps would enforce the players ability to shape the battlefield, and give more options on how to reactively deal with and other Vehicles.
Again, more to come. And to everyone else posting ideas in here, please, keep them coming! Myself, my budding Corporation and Alliance are working toward increasing DUST 514's ability to function both without, and especially within the EVE Universe and integration. Please, keep the thread alive with your ideas and make CCP notice us!

Hello again.
Welcome to The Black Jackal Presents...
Fun with DUST
Today we will suggestion more changes that could be implemented to change the way DUST behaves. Please 'Like' these posts, should you enjoy the suggestions, or clarify your own suggestions by posting a reply.
In addition to many of the above stated suggestions, I would like to propose these for the sake of Immersion:
Graphical Interactions Animations for doing certain actions in game. For example, jumping into, or departing from, a Tank, Dropship, or LAV. Inclusive of animations for 'changing' your place in such vehicles should it be applicable. This would be in line with the current 'hack' animations, Orbital Strike Animations, Relaoding, etc. Adding a true level of realism to the game and immersing the player... and honestly, the game as it is, is pretty immersive as far as it goes, let's make it better.
Warbarge Expansion Forgive me for this, but this is something I truly want to see in the game at some stage... similar to the upcoming (and upcoming) EVE Walking in Stations, the Warbarge should be expanded beyond your 'Quarters' and the Instant travel to the 'War Room' to include corridors, hangars, briefing rooms, storage and cargo holds. Bringing the players a sense of 'home' on board one of the many Corporation's Warbarges. In deference to that idea, also, the Warbarge should be limited in number as to the amount of people who are on it... they are large, but not so large as to carry ten thousand people with their own quarters etc.
I'd love the ability to walk around the Warbarge, looking out the windows at the planet below, or into space. Many others have expressed their interest in this idea also.
Thankyou for your attention, this concludes this post of:
