it would be cool if on some of the maps were eve ships that crashed on the surface, such as capital ships. this would give ps3 players a sense of scale on the ships we are flying in large fleet battles.
of course, these levels would probably not have vehicles, but to be honest I think some non-vehicle maps would be liked by some.
at the very least, could we get some crashed eve capitals/super caps in the background? I'd love to see an derelict titan on a planet |

A battle in the shadow of a crashed Amarr Titan, the Avatar, sticking out of the ground. The Avatar is about 13 km long. |

it doesn't have to be sticking out, if it landed on its belly, probably with lots of hull breaches and some complete cracks in the structure if i had skillz i'd paint a picture of it. but it could work |

Cap ship map would be bigger then any map we currently have, the ships are huge! So maybe a full map inside wouldn't work but I like the line of thinking and something like this could be done. |

one of the capitols crashing on the planet would be like a nuke going off possible multiple nukes at 13km. But agreed a crashed capitol map would be cool as well as some debree from frigits would be cool |

The news of the day: "A leviathan smashed 48 mercs on Jita IVs surface" [/X]
It would be awesome if they were part of the landscape then and we could get in. I would like to see some smashed EVE pilots and weapon chamber that work as giant nanohive. |

only prob with this is no such wreck would last long in a breathable atmosphere.
Tritanium
The main building block in space structures. A very hard, yet bendable metal. Cannot be used in human habitats due to its instability at atmospheric temperatures. Very common throughout the EVE universe.
All ships in EvE are made of it. |

Maps with crashed Eve ships would be cool, it could even be a game mode to secure the ship cargo or something like that. |

Crashed frigates would be ace. Maybe destroyers. No need for anything bigger. But wrecked skeletons of ships would be awesome. |

it could simply be a titan crash landed on a planet years ago and a base was built in it's shadow to avoid being picked up by sensors, in maps now you can see the giant building that can shoot at eve ships in the background, replace that with a downed titan.
the size is the point, when you get in a dropship and you see for miles that it's one large ship many ps3 players will go HOLY %%%% PEOPLE FLY THAT?
as for fighting inside one, it could be easily done in stages of the downed ship. have 5 matches going on simultaneously in the same map, if, say, the guys in the engine room succeed a buff is given to those in the other rooms ( 5-10 extra spawns?) Since it is a downed ship, there would be no real defence of those inside other then their own mercs. In that kind of game mode it would be like a mixture of BF2412 titan mod, and MAG's domination, where hundreds of people contribute to a victory over all. if the nubs in the engine room fail, you can still win the bridge, and crew quarters, and any other area of the ship. |

if there was a fleet battle going on above the corresponding planet in the eve universe. You could have the smaller ships like frigates falling down around the battlefield causing damage to the players and possibly also damaging buildings and equipment (vehicles supply depots and such). |

That'd be great... Though, I remember hearing something about the main material used in Eve ships breaks down in oxygen or something. Still, it'd be great to see that. BTW, a titan is like 10-13km long. It'd take up the whole map. |

/MASSIVE NERDINESS The thing to consider is that the primary reason we have objects that make it to the surface from outside our planet at all is due to their vector. Without a special ablative barrier such as that utilized by the space shuttle, even a Titan would burn completely before reaching the ground if it was only in orbit. The only way for enough of a ship to survive to make a difference would be to have it fly at the planet at high speed, so as to clear the atmosphere before all the mass was burned away. |

Uh... no. A mass of highly dense reinforced metal 16 KM long dropping to the atmosphere is not going to lose most of its mass to re-entry. If something like that fell on a planet, kiss the life on the continent it lands on good-bye. Even if it starts to burn up and breaks apart, you've effectively hit the surface with a massive shotgun.
While this idea sounds neat, at best there would be like two or three worlds where such a thing MIGHT have possibly happened, and it'd have to be in Nullsec. It'd be very rare to ever see such a thing since you'd have to be fighting for some specific world. So.. yeah, not worth their investment much.
Now, on the other side of things, I hope they make the orbital bombardment DIFFERENT for each type of weapon used. Lasers, Arties, Railguns, etc. What would be really awesome is scripting in attacks from the Doomsday attacks FROM Titans... |

True, but seeing a 13 km long ship sticking out of the ground at a 45 degree angle would make for an awesome Sci-Fi image :P |

Definitely a very nice idea. But instead of a map it would need to be district slot item like the central industrial district in the 5 Letter Map. With this it could change from one race to another and one class to another. |

Even MIR came down in fairly large chunks, and it took the long route just to burn up as much as they could. Besides, for some reason, EVE ships are SLOW. A titan barely move faster than a geriatric with a stroller. Some would burn, but I imagine the armour, capable of surviving massive weapons, would laugh at a little friction from re-entry. |

instead of crashed ship maps.. why not have ship maps and station maps with there own objectives.. stealing blueprints or equipment... damaging equipment to slow down or stop some item or product from station production. interfer with capital ship bombardments and planet control missions.. ect.. |

Yeah .. a map on the outside of a station was already suggested. But crashed ships can be integrated in the current temperate planets milestone :) |
