..in total as of now. It makes me think sp match rewards might come done a bit on release. I am sure they will add more skills, but even still I have been playing only for two weeks and I already 3 mill, not saying thats alot (definitely not a pro) but it seems fast. |

not really, in EVE online i think passive SP gain is faster I think it figured out to about 5-10mil SP in EVE (and all dust skills take x2 sp so 85mil would really be 42mil in identical EVE skills) so 3-4 years of constantly online EVE training passively vs whatever numbers your thinking. Hmm. I figure reduce it down to maybe 2/3 of what it is now and we have a stable set where it's allowed to go faster then EVE because this give them a chance to feel like they are working towards something.

Yeah, he's saying that's what it'll take to max everything we currently have.
I think we're missing a lot of skills. There's the rest of the dropsuits, and the racial variants of each suit/vehicle, different weapons such as lasers, the other vehicle turret types, stuff for cloaking and ewar, possibly installation and corp-related skills, and there may be a buttload of other things similar to mechanics and whatnot that are just there for extra passives. |

He is saying total dust514 skill sofar is 85mil I agree it should be a quicker progression than eve. Its a fps and I would not want to invest half a year just to get sniper op V. But I want very long term depth also.
And yes 85 mill in total, all skills combined....as of now. |

as I said maybe 30% slower but really I find this pretty ideal, it takes at least a good day of work to get the 500,000sp to get yourself the level 5 variant of a skill at x1, to get the x12 for HAVs or anything like that it will take quiet some times so I don't really see any reason to mess with it much further, I feel like im progressing but at a rate I control. |

Id like the SP gain slower, but currently the sweetspot for skills is Lv 1, Lv4, and Lv5.. Thats when you get all the new modules... So they should add some stuff to Lv2 and Lv3. |

Only very good players have a high amount of SP the rest bites the dust. I got myself now 11 million SP and speced into HAV lvl 3 (and all the required skills to get a very good tank fit), dropship on lvl 3 and im working now on a logistic LAV. Got all skills for the limbus except LAV 4. Have it now on lvl 3 and need 1.1 million SP to get it to 4. Basically to get from lvl 0-4 you need around 2 million sp. Well going after the limbus LAV is also lvling up for the modules that are used for armor tanks. So its not dead capital. And i got some skills for beeing aible to be good at infantry aswell. |

Thanks for using this thread to express how good you are/bad everyone else is and for helping me lvl my not care skill to V. We were discussing the current rate of sp gain like adults, if you would like to contribute. |

in my opinion the skill gain rate should be 20-25% faster. Cause other players wont be aible to keep up so well with the better players who are actually playing this on a professional lvl. |

Personally I already argued that CCP should increase the base skill points needed, and then modify and raise the skill multipliers. I think they are personally too low, but people will undoubtly grief, and cry over it. I indeed hope to see many more skills before release, and many more to come though in Dust514's lifetime. Eighty-five million is too low. Call me a masochist, but the grind is part of the journey, and you know the old saying -- "No pain; no gain" -- and trust me you would be literally earning those "skill points". Then again I am a sadist. Ha-ha.
Edit:
Simply put I do not mind the current rate at which we are acquiring skill points both actively and passive. However I feel it should be a longer journey. Though if I had it my way we'd be gaining about thirty percent less on both ends, and I'd still increase the base needed skill points on all skills and their respective multipliers. |

But then that 25% increase would effect the pros also and since they are "pros" they will get even more out of it. That would end up expanding the gap not decreasing it. |

I am not so much worried about imbalance with sp gain as I am of catching the carrot too fast, but hey if CCP wants to just keep dangling new and tasty carrots, I will keep chasing them. |

Agree with the OP. Since the "new build" came down, I have 14mil SP and I know some that are above me.
I don't get to play everyday, I work a 7-4 M-F job and this seems quite a bit for the limited amount of time I've played. While I would hate to see them nerf SP gain, I would definitely understand it. |

Is this calculation also considering skills we know will (probably) be in the game but aren't yet:
I remember reading they want faction equality by launch so there will at least be a bunch more racial skills (suits, vehicles at least).
There will probably also be skills for installations and other stay-in-the-MCC-guy skills.
Artillery and autocannons? Market skills?
If there are PvE missions at laucnh there could also be social skills.
