1 out of 5 games you might see a semi organized mob of blues with some trying to AV.. but squading up with the same ppl that you know there play style is really the way to go.
it never hurts to have a sniper who is a battle/counter sniper and switches to AV when neccessary and who has more going for him than just camping a mountain top,
those militia "mountain men" we get out of our squad asap- "um sorry.. the squad is.. um.. breaking up.. we ah.. gotta go AFK for a while.."
*reforms squad minus the mountain man
YOU LIED TO ME! YOU SAID YOU HAD TO GO DO YOUR HAIR!
I bet you then reformed the squad without me you meany!
For what its worth, I've spec'd into Forge Guns and prefer them for AV stuff. However, the survivability of the heavy suits necessary to run a forge gun outfit is motherkitten weak after ccp nerfed the armor into oblivion - twice. It is a very satisfying weapon though, when you can manage to clear the skies of dropships and keep the hostile vehicles at bay, if not kill them outright.
The way I see it, the forge guns are better AV due to the direct and immediate damage applied to the target, whereas the swarms have multiple smaller units that take significant time to track to the target and may impact terrain or structures before getting to the target. Additionally, forge guns have some usefulness against infantry, though it really is a matter of luck on that point.
Militia Heavy Suit
High: Complex Heavy Damage Mod Heavy weapon slot: Advanced assault forge gun Sidearm: Assault smg Grenade: AV grenade Low: Militia armor rep
After having the damage nerfed into the ground, the mid-tier assault forge gun does around 1khp per direct hit. With the complex damage mod that is improved a bit, but not back to what it was pre-nerf :(
Heavy Type-I
Highs: 2x Complex Heavy Damage Mod Heavy weapon slot: Proto assault forge gun Sidearm: Assault smg Grenade: AV grenade Low: Basic CPU Enhancer
This build costs more and has less survivability than the militia suit due to the lack of a rep, but working with a squad that has logi vastly improves your survivability.
As you can see, I favor the "blow kittens up quickly" method of engagement. If it takes 4 shots to kill a vehicle rather than 5, that is a reload saved and more time the other ground-pounders have to achieve objectives. |
