At the moment there isn't much point gains for Dropship pilots, but next patch addresses this. |

I think you do get some SP from each match, but not nearly as much as rest of players, since kill assists and stuff for dropship pilots are low in this build. And the fact that dropships dont get WP (War poins, or what ever they are called) from transporting passangers to objective thereby succesfully capturing it. |

From another thread
CCP Nothin wrote:The scoreboard will show everyone's earned WP (warpoints, the points you get from your actions on the battlefield) once deploy the next patch. It will also be ranked by WP, so playing in support roles will also allow you to make it to the top.
We also wish to add and keep adding more WP rewards over time for various actions. You should definitely be able to e.g. fly pilot your dropship and earn a good living doing it, provided that you're useful to your team.

When I play I tend to play support roles like healing, repairing, or laying down a hella amount of bullets as my teammates follow in after me and finish them off. I think I would be cool if a dropship full of teammates flies over to an objective while taking enemy fire and have teammates on the guns putting rounds on targets as the drop ship get lower so all can get out and the dropship flies off while the ground forces it groped off get the objective. That would be cool and the dropship should get something for that! cool thing about dropships is you dont have to get close to the ground to drop troops. I didnt know that until I was in a dropship that was getting pounded, so i was like "kitten it" and exited. Next thing i know, I am screaching for the ground and bam on the ground and running.
But when dropping from high up just remember to press x to activate inertia dampners BEFORE hitting the ground. |

And my bet is, just speculation no info to back this up, that that fighter could possibly have fixed-wing aircraft fly mechanics as opposed to dropship vector thrust craft that we have now. Atleast I hope so. I would love to see both in game.
But i'll be sticking with dropships. |

HeavySteelB52 wrote:Oh yeah that's right, now what would be cool is a way to pick ground forces up from ground with out landing. Maybe like in Star Treck lol, beam me up. Like some type of device that would light up a small area on ground where they would stand in and the seat spots would light up inside the dropship meaning that the dropship was lock on ground forces to fill the seats. Then the dropship pilot would have to hold a button for a set amount of time and there the be, in side the dripship out of danger and ready to be transported to another objective. Lol I know is a little to much but it would be cool
mm.. Maybe cool and look impressive, but I like to actually land the craft and then take off after passangers are boarded. More of a challenge to me as a pilot to do pick-up in a hot combat zone.
And in your example the dropship would haeve to be motionles. And DS that dont move much is a destroyed DS. |
