Hello, fellow forum warriors! For those of you who aren't aware, a new episode of Cast 514 was uploaded today. Check it out here!
For people who don't know what Cast 514 is, it is a podcast originally hosted by Grideris and Broadcastorm. (Who is now CCP Frame) Because of his new CCP job, he passed on the torch to me to help Grid out with the podcast. Together we will strive to handle out sweet juicy information about dust present and future.
There has been a healthy lapse in the making of Cast 514, mainly due to the NDA and Grid being without a co-host, but we plan to be putting these out more frequently again. Planning for Episode 7 is already in the works and we are going to do our best to get some CCP presence on the next episode to dish out some juicy new info!
For those not up to date on the older episodes, check out a list of the current collection here.
In the future I will try to use this thread for news and updates relating to Cast514 for anyone not following such things on the main website itself, or twitter, etc. |

2. It was mentioned in IRC last night but check the mics before hand. Nova, your S's were hard on the ear at slighty higher volumes. Also, your voice sounded like Mr Movie Phone when you talked. Made me laugh on more than one occasion.
Yeah, this was a nasty side effect of me trying to level the audio out in a 'lazy' way. Grid's microphone was originally coming at at less than a quarter of the volume of mine (because his microphone is terrible!) and rather than single out his talking sections and beef up their volume, I just applied leveling filters to the whole track. It brought grid much closer to my volume level but it also made the more prominent sounds like 's' much more prominent. I've adjusted my recording stuff so that it should not be an issue next time, but regardless, I will not be using lazy filters and actually manually beef up/quiet parts as necessary.

If only you had any that wasn't already readily available.
If only we were allowed to talk about any of it. more like! Because it's a public cast, the NDA really limits us on what we can say. At most we can comment on stuff said in other media releases and compound them into one place, until the NDA is released. Or on the Episodes where we can get CCP presence (Like the next episode) We might even coax them to release previously unreleased information. :)
Once the NDA is gone though... |
