So... I'm back with another thread telling you all how to play...
1.) Supply points let you change class. 2.) Everyone should have classes setup with militia uplinks, hives, injectors and repair tools. 3.) This means supply points should becomes fortified very quickly.
Use the supply point to change to your uplinks and throw 1 down somewhere close. Nanohives too. If you see a good heavy low on health, switch to your repair tool and fix him up. Someone goes down next to you at a supply point and you run off? Your a jerk and a fool. Switch class and Rez that guy.
We might actually find supply points to be increasingly dangerous depending on their placement. Imagine one on a tower...
Logi guys who can't shoot, if you make a supply depot home, and switch to heavy or whatever gun your wanting you can multiply your effectiveness.
Once again this is about using everything you have available to win. |

Good plan untill the tanks see it, and and blow it up for a few measly points instead of helping capture it , because helping foot mobiles is something only peasants do, not our tank driving overlords. |

Good advice. Tony, as logistics, I do this every match. Especially in ambush.
Job #1 on first spawn is to pick a clear and defendable position and drop an uplink & hive. Then I roam around this 'base' and keep it clear until I start to see +25 team spawns poppin up. I then move forward towards where the heaviest fighting is and drop a second uplink ( used gauged to allow double drops).
So the first uplink is our baseline and the second is in the direction of the fight. Front liners can spawn at the forward point on push on while snipers or drivers can spawn at the base to gain time and position
Hard to communicate any of this during a match but I keep doing it and if people catch on it starts to become SOP |

I find uplinks one of the least used items available. Properly used they can be very very useful. I have a pure milita scout setup with one that I tend to start matches with.
As for the OP, very good points all, there are milita variations of all these items available, using them can turn the tide of a match and net you some nice WP as well |

+1 OP
This is not only sound advice it's a great way for lower SP characters to advance while they're skilling up, and for new players to get a taste of many different roles on the field while deciding what to train up.

Good tankers in an ambush will blow up all the supply depots. I won't get into how super gay it is to have a tank in an ambush though. |

Sorry dude. But the whole point is I've got a feeling they might be op with no cool down between suit changes. It'd be nice to see more people looking for things which are easily exploitable. The current Playerbase has a lot of people for whom Dust is their first FPS. Or first time on PS3. The whole point though maximus is defending your supply depot. More sp for repairs and revives/restocking. You should actually benefit by having more people in on it :D |

oh and if anyone didnt know, if you have major armour damage and no rep , just switch out to a different suit, then switch back and your armour is repaired. |

Moron tankers more like, a good tanker will help his team take and hold a supply depot not blow it up. |

Tankers dont care if you hold a Supply Depot in an ambush, why would they? Armor rep? Not a big deal with the AV nerf.
If they kill the supply depots, people are stuck with whatever suit they spawn in, most wont spawn in an AV only suit considering they will probably die to infantry more than tanks.
If i'm not mistaken, only 1 ambush map (Sniper's Heaven with the Spires) in the current build has supply depots and those are horribly placed for tanks to use to their advantage. Then again, I'm probably wrong.

I have a feeling they will heavily figure in corp battles, especially when we can call them in to a specific location ourselves. |

Yes supply depots are great, I use them constantly and would even like a nanohive that acts in a similar fashion. Nano hive is used only for getting a new suit, no ammo, make it so only the user can use it and make it a limited number of swaps. Just an idea.
Also tankers should blow them up. If I'm running there to switch to AV how many others will think the same thing? Maybe with more cordination, tanks wouldn't blow them up, but if you expect a driver of a mil isk tank to trust randoms to hold a SD? That silly!
Also if you have a competent squad leadrer, they would put orders to defend SD giving you that much more WP! |

the center supply depot on the storm planet is setup where a tank has a hard time shooting into that crater and when he does he's vulnerable to AV on the mountainside he has to get on in order to shoot down into the crater so everyone switches to AV and either tank runs or gets blown up but sometimes he wins if the supporting inf charge hard enough into the defended crater |
