Congrats to the devs for posting the new threads about bugs and other issues.
The most interesting fact that was mentioned was that they are planning to move the beta over to TQ soon.
So is Dust ready for the prime time?
Discuss
Devs. Does that mean that we will get all the Eve forum features over here on the dust forums? Will there still be a NDAed forum for those playing on the test server? |

if they move over, it is one step closer. If they are ready, is a different story.
Maybe they have another version hid away that they will bring out, letting us use this version as a play tool and making ammendments to the proper version as required.
I can't wait, I want the vita app so I can look through it whilst I am at work. |

have they even given a release date? moving over to TQ is closer but doesn't mean they will release.
i'd say it's risky but i'm not looking at the "people who quit" numbers. they will know and assess what's right for them. |

I don't believe the open beta part is accurate. He just said we'll move to TQ if everything goes well.
They must have a lot of faith in their new build. Hopefully its everything they think it is. |

What does TQ mean?
And personally, I think the build that's coming out in September will be the final build before official release. My guess on that would be mid-November. |

Many of the MMO's tend to more or less launch as Open beta.
Probably helps to tress test the servers and fix issues related to them, and maybe do some adjustments based on game previews before officially releasing the game and getting blasted with reviews.

Becouse Eve already splits diffrent functions like voice, text chat and market on to seperate CPU's.
Its not alot diffrent then the battle servers exept that the battle servers are not in the same room. That is the functionality that CCP is testing now.
Once they fix the memery leak that they where trying to hot fix today and get a stable EVE PSN batlle server network working. They need to see if it will work on a larger scale the only place to do that is TQ. Even if the battles stay as the are on Sisi not effecting the world. Its a step that needs to be taken sooner rather then later. |

i kinda wanna see some pve stuff, and also i would like them to hurry and add mjor things such as guns and instalations before the game goes to open beta, because those seem like pretty major things to test at last minute |

They (i.e. CCP) have two options.
Rolling release, which it seems like they are leaning toward.
Or hold out until everything is more or less in working order and have an official full release. To do this they would either have to postpone the official release date until Holiday season, possibly spring, or cut back on features and release a much more scaled down version of the game than what it seems like they intend to let everyone play when this thing goes public. This is what you would expect them to do (see The Last Guardian) if DUST 514 was a more traditional game on a disc with a campaign mode and multiplayer mode.
There are advantages and disadvantages to both approaches. But judging by the cycle of builds so far there will be no way that vehicles, munitions, and dropsuits for all factions, all listed weapons (lasers, artillery to name a few) and faction warfare will be fine tuned before November.
Unless they have all of that up their sleeves and are going to drop it like a bomb when the next build lands.
I would rather see as much stuff as soon as possible with rough edges, than a few things artificially polished. |

Add things when those things are ready to be added. If you hurry, then things will break and they will break fast. If you take your time, several things will still have problems, but it'll be much easier and quicker to fix. |

Even when we are on TQ, they can keep us pretty well separated from the pod pilots in terms of game mechanics, forum access, market, etc. so it can still be closed beta on TQ
Personally, I believe the welcome rush to Tranquility is based mostly on the hardware capabilities of that server cluster
I think testing on SiSi with the current build has shown them enough data to believe the new build will perform well on TQ. And they HAVE to move us to TQ because the SiSi hardware isn't up to the server load we are placing on the game
The memory leaks, errors and overall performance issues point to that.
I am very optimistic that They have a new solid build waiting and deploying it on the TQ workhorse is the answer to most of the stability issues
Here I go, tossing my lot in with CCP. Stocked, locked and ready to drop- Tranquility bound sooner vs later |

Otherwise, we'll be totally crashing EVE for a while. |

And, Shisno, if anyone thinks that the rage and pain they see on the DUSTbeta forums is significant, they have never seen the molten galactic fire that the full EVE forums and player base can bring to bear.
No, if CCP says we are ready for TQ, I am ready. If dust crashes eve there will be a rapid and effective response. |

This message just makes me remember why I think CCP is going to eventually nail it! This type of cross-game interaction is just -- awesome IMO (and a lot of others I hope!) Thanks, everyone, for making me smile today! |

lol this is gonna make a lot of EVE high sec carebears QQ.. some are stupid enough to believe they are gonna be able to fire at us in high sec.. and even more think it won't require any interaction with a merc on the ground. |
