Really should take away the giant blue laser that comes up whenever we call it in... Seriously, it's about useless considering even a Heavy can just sprint out of it's range the minute the giant smurf spotlight pops up with that loud "BRRRRINGGG" door-bell going off in their ears to alert them..

seems fair to me. god forbid the enemy can hide when our free kills from the sky happen.

i mean, just think how positively bullshit you would be the first time you lost a prototype suit to a strike that you had absolutely no chance to avoid, because it gave no warning.

Than they really need to reduce the time it takes for the drop to come down - it's just silly honestly, why -should- you get any warning from something you have to bust ass for O_o?

Isn't it just one time per match for the vast majority of cases? And what are the chances of that really happening anyway? The area of effect is pretty small to begin with.

Besides you probably shouldn't/wouldn't (take your pick) be using Proto gear in random skirmish or ambush matches unless you have a ton of ISK, in which case you can afford to lose a suit.

i've called in 5 strikes in a single match myself, and heard of other people getting 10 or more. plus every squad in the match earns strikes independently.

you also need to consider that these are probably the WEAKEST strikes. they don't even require eve support.

so SOME kind of warning is perfectly justified. nobody likes a cheap shot.

Can we have one for snipers like a red dot on your screen whenever a sniper has his sight on you
  .
I think the warning is over kill, just like staying behind cover we should be mindful of staying under cover too and get rid of the warning on strikes.

Buzzwords the strikes we are using are confirmed to be the weakest version, so you're correct.

In retards to the point of the OP. The orbital strikes we currently have are very useful despite not actually getting much in the way of kills. Try getting you squad together just outside a defended objective and drop the OS on it while you approach. The fleeing enemies are easy kills and the defenders are dispersed making capture easier.

this is not really analogous, as the sniper needs LoS to hit you, and they usually don't instakill anyway.

not to mention, you know, aiming. as opposed to just throwing a strike in your general area.
