I've bought two merc packs and every time I want to play this game, I can't. It's infuriating, and I literally waste time going through the motions of booting and rebooting this game only for it to not work, freeze, or get that stupid freaking "Invalid Fitting" glitch.

It can get very frustrating. Best thing to do is not to think of it as a game. It will probably take a good long while to put DUST into shape. Try setting it a aside and check it out again in a month or two. |

I'm not thinking of it as a game. I'm thinking of it as a Beta. Beta's should at least be technically playable.
I said this last night on chat while the servers were taking a dump.
I've played dozens of betas. This isn't a Beta, it's an Alpha labeled a Beta. An Alpha is where the devs work out the engine. Get the core mechanics, and work on netcoding.
Beta's are made mostly for making revisions and polishing the game. Adding more graphical effects. Smoothing out animations, tweaking gameplay for balance, expanding game types, and getting the logistics to work on a grand and more complete scale.
If I can't even get game going, there is a problem.
Hell, I remember beta testing Planet Side 1. We (players) would get into a Galaxy and we'd get stuck in the roof of the thing. There was no way to get out other than logging out and logging back in.
But guess what.
You can still log in.
More recently, I've done Tribes Ascend. I absolutely loathed the lack of care for balance by the devs in the beta, but the game was still very technically playable.
Once again, this is not. |

You have it backwards. You played demos that called themselves betas. "Software in the beta phase will generally have many more bugs in it than completed software, as well as speed/performance issues." This is absolutely what you would expect a beta to look like.
Don't get me wrong, I share your frustration. I've lost a few dropships to lag spikes, and getting four people into a match without anyone dropping or getting an invalid suit bug is a huge hassle. If you can't bear to deal with these things, by all means don't play for a while. Don't get it into your head that this is what the game will be like on release. |

to answer the question: No you're not allowed to sell your account. This would violate the ToS of Sony (3. Community Code of Conduct before-last point starts with "You may not sell[...]your Online ID, SEN Account, or any personal Access to SEN first party Services" ) |

Where those games you where playing open or closed beta? Open beta is basically a demo with a few bug, where a closed beta is still very much a WiP. I playedon the closed beta for Star Wars: the Old Republic, and there where a few days where logging in wasn't even possible, due to the amount of patches and fixes they implemented on a daily basis, that would occasionally crash other working parts of the game. During the Open Beta for Dust, when it's in it's demo-type open beta stage, the devs will be doing that smothing out you where talking about, but a closed beta is the game right out of alpha, and the first chance for anyone but the devs to find bugs and things. If you participate in a closed beta, you're basically doing a job, that takes more than a dev team in a studio to do. If you read all the agreements, it's pretty much required that you come and report things on the forum and to ccp's e-mail. |

i look at it as this... NOTHING you do in this build matters in the end. you bought 2 merc packs?? why?? 1 is more than enough. this is a BETA. it has NO effect on the game universe it is intended upon as of yet. everything you are working for means nothing at this stage. it'll get wiped at least 1-2 more times before release. everything you are working for in terms of SP, ISK and equipment means nothing right now when it will get reset anyway.
the whole point is to allow the devs to gather data. we are monkeys at typewriters right now. sure, i get mad when i can't get into a game, get the invalid bug, get dropped whenever i'm in a squad with my corp. i even got mad after this recent wipe because i worked hard for all the skills i had and then they were gone. but guess what... you'll get it all back (in terms of your merc pac and event winnings) after the next wipe and upon release. you'll lose nothing.
the only thing that has me concerned (which i had blessedly few issues with) is any hard locks. i don't know how damaging they are, if at all, but those are not fun. i'd rather get kicked from 100 games (which i've probably have been ) than experience a hard lock.
how i deal with the frustration is this... i reach a point that i say, if i have to reboot again i'll quit for the day. and that's what i do. i quit and then try again later. sometimes it's the next day, other times it's a week later depending on my schedule.
what does bother me are games that are at final release that are broken. look at MAG. i've had more problems with that game than Dust, and it's a final release. i've hard locked (to where i had to eject the disk and my PS3 reset itself... no unplugging thank God) many times. the devs did nothing in the end and now the company is dismantled.
keep your chin up. in the end it's going to be a great game with a lot of depth. |

Closed. I usually don't play when it hits open. At that point it's basically done. Anyway, from what I played, I've made several threads and comments, but it's getting to the point where I'm in for one match, and that's it. I can not give feedback if I can't even get into the matchmaking. I can log-in just fine, but the process of joining a game has become few and far between. If they need to, shut down the servers, do a proper fix, don't have several thousand people trying to join a game as they try to patch the issue.
I love being in Beta's. Being a part of the dev process. Trying my best to break the game intentionally. I want games to be fantastic. I miss games that have balance. I miss games that DON'T have absolute trash UI's. I miss games that have any sort of complexity beyond what camo your gun has or having some stupid 420 dog tag that shows when you kill people. I used to play this thing every night. Post Precursor update, I've gotten into a total of 5 matches.
Five. This is why I'm upset. I don't have time during the day to play, I only have time at night, and that's when it seems to mess up the most.

Thanks.
I see what you're saying now, and as a pefix, let me just say I'm using the quote feature as more of a reply, and using a phone, so I can't really go back and delete all but the last, so I'm sorry that it takes up so much space. What it sounds like to me is you're expirencing a complicated technical issue that needs to be brought to the attention of the devs immidiatly. I can play almost every match, and can't wait for launch, mostly becaue it'll be complete by than, and for the reasons you stated (tired of playing games like COD and BF3 where the is no depth in favor of supposed "realism"). I've seen a few people complaining about total system crashes, but they say it ussually happens at peak hours, I get on after around 0100 GMT (2100 or 9pm EDT) and ussually have no problems exepting the few bugs that I CONSTANTLY report, though the devs don't seem to take notice. If I where you, I'd check back on the forums every once in a while to see if they've done any major system patches, and when the have, hop back on Dust and see if your issue was resolved. Not being a Dev or GM, I can't say anything for sure, but I'm pretty sure that by open beta/demo release, it'll be a game up to the calibre of EVE or better. These guys aren't EA or Activision after all.

If it makes any difference to you, CCP nothin said in another thread most of the issues involving getting into matches are due to a memory leak in the battle servers and they're working hard to fix it. |
