that would be saying you should remove the tactical AR or the assault HMG or maby even the assault swarm launcher(exept the dumb fire is actually usefull in some situations) |

Anything to make AV as neutered against infantry as possible, I suppose. I feel so naked running around in my AV fit, not gonna lie. You kinda just have to pray to the gods no one decides to mess with you, or that your group of people has less AV guys then theirs >_< |

Missile splash deals 15 dmg at 1 meter or so. One of the bonuses for swarms it to increase the splash damage. Only once have I hit a person directly with a missile and It still didn't kill them. Also, CCP should keep in mind that dumb firing is a viable tactic against vehicles. |

There is a viable fit for AV and protecting yourself from Infantry. Using a scout with SMG as the sidearm, shield mod, and speed mods, in conjunction with the nanohive, make this a very viable build and is very survivable, and you can thrive with this. Anyone versed with scout suits in CQC should have no trouble being successful.
Having fought against you Dust Fiend, I should think you would feel very comfortable with this type of fit. |

The problem is you get a standard fit on a heavy. The swarm launcher should be on a scout instead or at least assault. what dumbass put the swarm on the heavy? That's a good way to die to a tank, be immobile. |

The REAL problem is that the scout suit is the most viable suit, no matter the situation, because speed is king esp when tanks will 1 shot a heavy just as quick as a scout.....scouts are harder to hit so as long as they are moving they are good...the only BAD loadout I have seen for a scout is a sniper....odd isn't it...the reason I say a sniper is because they have to stand still to pull off a shot..and when they stop they die... |

I don't know, I found this setup to be fairly underwhelming, personally. I'm not a big fan of the SMG though, maybe if I skilled into it more I might like it a little more. When running swarm launchers for AV, I personally like to have damage mods in my high slots, which you just can't do with a scout since you really need that extra shield buffer if you don't want to be killed while locking on. Scouts also have the lowest PG / CPU, so you need to be really picky with how you fit it.
I dunno, maybe others have success with it, I for one skilled into assault suits just for AV though. |

The removal of dumb fire from Swarms is stupid but I'll take it if tey change the base skill from +5% damage radius to to +5% missile speed and the +3 ROF from proficiency to +3% Damage. |

Don't know about firing at thanks but i've taken out railguns dumb firing swarms at them, the silly path the guided missiles takes made it impossible to hit it otherwise, dumb firing at it worked really well though, 4 flights of missiles in quick succession, guy didn't know what hit him. |

God, we need dumbfire, it's one of my favourite passtimes, get in front of a LAV, see how he thinks "free roadkill" and boom swarm in the face "not this time buddy" I cant see why would we have things that are like javelins but much worse in the future, at least we should have a non guided launcher asalternative. |

Ya dumb firing on a tank up close is optimal. Why lock on when pulling the trigger will have all missiles hit? I can see making lock on have more damage since the war heads have a time of impact.
I'm thinking that if they took dumb fire away, it is to teach the noobs how to use them properly. |

I spawned up close to a tank, tossed 3 AV nades and dumb fired my swarm 3 times, killed the tank and then died from someone else's AR. (pats self on back)
I vote to leave in dumb fire. |

I think you mean because tanks ARE underpowered. It takes way too much skill to drive them and get kills, I feel so bad for tank drivers, they have it really rough. AV is way too strong right now against them, across the board. Also, the lack of mobility on tanks is just a killer if you ask me. |

I just noticed that dumb firing has been taken out. Not that I used it often but when I did it was very helpful. Since swarms are nerfed against infantry I really don't see why this change needed to be made. Dumb firing swarms did not make them OP vs tanks.
Please CCP add this ability back in. I miss it so. |

I am surprised they did not allow it to be like a Rpg if u tapped R1 it would fire 1 missile. And if u held it down it would still lock on to vehicles and do what it currently does now that way u could at least defend yourself against infantry and still fight vehicles. |

I love this idea. Also, give the single shot missiles less range, but more damage against infantry. This would help put the splash damage radius into effect.

search "dumb fire" under dev posts, they have already commented on it.
Some Swarmers have the dumbfire option as a feature of the weapon - promotes people speccing into the skill in order to get the versions that can fire whenever you pull the trigger.
This is a small nerf to the militia swarmers to help vehicle owners. It delays fire, stops scout swarming suicides, and helps some vehicles get away. It was for balance... in my opinion. |
