Please tell me if I'm doing somthing wrong? Because I'm not quite sure of the benefits of being a Dropship pilot. I pay 220,000 ISK minimum for my Dropship. Which is 95% guaranteed to be shot down in action. If I win a skermish you tend to get about 100,000 ISK maybe a little more. If I use a Dropship (let alone 2 or 3) and it gets shot down (as we know it probably will). I just lost my 220,00 ISK! Well ok but I win 100,000 ISK from the skirmish. Wait a minute 100,000 gained plus -á-220,000 lost? So I loose 100,000 ISK for shuttling around my team and doing my part. Correct me if I'm wrong but this seams like a pour system. Maybe once you buy the ship you don't have to buy any more, so the ship wouldn't be a restock item? Maybe you should just have to buy the fitting for it like the LAV. This seams more reasonable. Like my Starter Fit LAV with additional fittings. Or maybe have insurance like you do in EVE for ships son when my ship blows up I only loose 20,000 ISK. I hope this is only a beta problem. Based on your paragraph layout, grammar, spelling, and the fact that you're posting complaints about your lack of skill in the bug report forum, I'm just gonna go ahead and say that dropships probably aren't for you. Stick to the gun game, mate. |

I'm not yelling or trying to make waves here and I most certainly did not ask for your pompous and hebetudinous comments about my grammar on a gamers site. I have a legitimate question about the game play. If you can not answer this question or reference where I might find the answer. I would just assume you keep your snarky, unrelated and unwanted comments to your self. |

No it dosent. Because when you cant finish every game every thing you drop in is lost and you get no SP or isk.
So nothing is worth it until they fix alot of shi t |

Dropships are unfortunately pretty much paper airplanes, and have the durability of such. Tactically they stand to have awesome possibilities, but I think we'll really only see them heavily in alliance-funded play. |

This is it. When the outcome of the battle affects your pay, like it will with a supposed contract system, your corp will likely fund the dropship purchase and fitting.
To address the free dropship idea, I believe they were free early in beta but they were heavily abused by snipers and people just wanting to get to the other side of a battlefield. So, no more free dropships. |

The true problem is that dropship pilots DO'NT GET PAID FOR FERRY PEOPLE AND ACTING AS A SPAWN POINT.
Everyione else is getting points for doing theyr job, assaults get points for killing, logi for reviving and so on.
The dropship doesent. |

The problem is the forge guns. They aren't expensive enough for the amount of damage they do, or how annoying they are for drop ships. There shouldn't be an 8k ISK forge gun that does 1k damage. The standard forge gun needs to cost at least 50k ISK. |

Just my 2 cents, you can take it or leave it, but it seems that there is an unused dropsuit configuration for pilots. It says pilot, under the dropsuit submenu in the Market, so perhaps, upon release, there will be a bigger role for pilots to play. We already know they are adding more vehicals, and the option to be able to drop instilations later, but maybe with the addition of the pilot suits, there will be an exp/ISK award for taking a certin number of troops a certin distance without being shot down, or perhaps vehical buffs specific to the pilot suits. I think that may resolve a bit of the balance issues with dropships and whatnot, because I've noticed it too. |

This thread should go under suggestions.
I have a militia dropship that can survive 3 swarm launcher hits. I have not lost it yet to enemy fire. Not even when it got shot by a enemy tanks rail gun. This fit is a little over 300k isk.
That being said. I only get wp for vehicle assists? its sad... I fly like a kitten humming bird and I get a 0/0 score and a few sp as like some sort of pity prize. If the contribution of dropship pilots was more appreciated by this game I would fly one more often and maybe even spec in to an expensive fit. |
