I tryed to orbital strike a tank once. The tank then got hit once and rolled off like it was nothing.
Orbital Strike can't take out a tank. this saddens me. |

next build it will also seems to me swarms do more damage to armor than shields, same with AV nades. Forge guns seem to be the ones to **** with shields more than swarms idk ive seen some madrugars forced to back up with some AV nade spam alone once his shields are gone
maybe if flux nades actually did what it said and ****** with shields that would help AV infantry some more. Description says disrupts shielding and shows u dmg values of 1800HP so that should mess with tanks shields.
Flux for shields AV for armor thats the way i thought it would work |

My experiance so far tells me your on to somthing
As for the dude killing tanks with one forge mag good on ya for specing AV and keep up the good fight tho be warned not all tanks are so squishy or hang about to be shot 4 times. |

I just had this idea for a HAV killing team.
1) Me, dropship pilot. 2 &3) Forge guns/swarms 4) Whatever. Logi, maybe? Doesn't matter.
2 and 3 operate the turrets while 4 rides along, maybe we rotate who operates the guns. When we spot a HAV we go to it and use the DS guns to take out nearby enemy infantry and soften it up with the DS guns. Then 2 and 3 jump out and blast at it with AV gear until it dies or attempts to flee. If it tries to get away 4 finishes it off with the turret. Then 2 and 3 get back in (because their weapons are of minimal efficacy against infantry) and 4 can either continue to ride along or go do the gun game thing. |

That worked on the last build SI were doing that with 4 man forgegun drop teams. Shame squads are only 4 man.
Give it a go and I hope it works.
One prob we had was the time it takes to drop often the tanks moved off a fair bit and if you drop to far infront well they all toast.
I guess just land right on top of em then distract em by waving a dropship around in the gunners face. |

Update: We're making progress!!!
I was just in a match where a teammate and I (both using militia SL) fired a total of 4 waves of SL missiles at an HAV....we managed to scuff it's paint job. I'm sure if we upgrade to proto AV gear, we may actually damage it's shields too!!! |

I think what's going on here is that it only seems like it does more damage to armor is because generally more people like going with shield tanking, and so they throw on shield damage reducers, (can't think of the name) so you do do less damage to shields, and then it seems like so much more because there's way less armor and you are then doing full damage.
\Example with fake numbers
tank has shields of 10000 and resistance of 20%
You hit it for 800 damage and it seems like you barely scratched it
You finally get to the armor and it has 2000 armor and no resistance
You hit it for 1000 halfway killing it making it seem like swarms do so much more damage to armor.
/Example
Also it may seem like the FG does more damage is because you half the time only a few swarmers hit the tank so you only get partial damage. But if a FG hits, you get full damage every time. Then you are able to put on repeated shots much faster than a swarmer whittling it away faster.
**EDIT**
That or he FG really is bugged and it doesn't take resistances into the calculations... |

Good in theory, mate. But you will probably find that once the DS starts clearing the Infantry, 2 good shots from the HAV at the DS will make it Game Over. Had this exact experience 2 days ago. We thought we were on to something.

Used orbital strike on tank yesterday, it didn't destroy it but it dealt considerable damage allowing my team to get their **** together and spam it with everything they got from assault rifles to grenades and chairs. It blew up, and it blew up good.
If I'd have taken a picture, id frame it on my wall.

Nah, it's just the way of EVE warships getting rid of their garbage. It's cheaper to fire them from orbit at the enemy than dispose them properly. |

The current orbital strikes are beyond a joke. They're nothing like they were shown in videos. They do bad damage, have a TINY area, and look really, really bad.
There are an awful lot of people saying "oh they'll magically be GODLIKE!! when called in from EVE players!". Like anything they've hyped has actually turned out the way it was portrayed when it actually makes it in game =(. |

exactly thats why i feel the sooner we get capacitors and ewar added and this new statis webifier mine they are talkin about all into the game and Flux nades actually doin **** to tanks Shields then i really dont see the problem with AV infantry once everything is added, the breach guns could use back a buff tbh but i guess we will hav to see how the upcoming increased range works out 1st
Capacitors alone are gonna change up vehicle play so much, it wont be simple never ending spam of railgun and rocket fire thing is caps might not work exactly how they are in EVE cuz then it might be overkill on vehicles, especially when u have gunners in ur vehicles that u cant control
