Pretty simple, can we please not let Dust be another fps where jumping up and down like an idiot is a viable strategy for dodging bullets. It's ridiculous and has plagued many fps games over the years, so it would be great if Dust can break the cycle.
My suggestion for a fix that doesn't mess with stamina is to change the jump animation. When you jump up your gun should swing as your whole body is in the jump, then upon landing you should have a recovery where you're gun drops as you regain solid footing making you an easy target if you didn't use the jump to get behind cover.
This doesn't nerf anyone's stamina or speed, maintains the usefulness of a single jump in getting behind cover while making you an easy kill if you try this out in the open. Bunnyhoping will be gone! |

There has never been and never will be bunnyhopping.
Stamina doesn't allow bunnyhopping.

Yeah um not true, scouts can jump for ages and assaults are even capable with some SP in the stamina skills. |

scout suits can jump twice, that's all, unless they have skills for stamina and a module equiped.
they can't jump much, and if they do it in a gun fight with you, they can't run away. and they are extremely easy to put down. |

When they improve hit detection and sensitivity, I don't think it will be an issue, but right now, yes, this is definitely a problem, especially with scout shotgunners eating facefuls of bullets while they hop around blasting me to pieces. |

sounds like someone has problems tracking a target that cant alter his direction while in the air no offense but ur suggestion is terrible, lets make the game even more sluggish yea....that'll be fun |

They need to instead add a roll mechanic or possibly make it a skill that increases speed and roll distance with each level.. IMO that would be great. Also a first person cover system like Killzone 3 had would be a great addition.
I also hate huge slow halo style jumps in game. Feels like gravity is 1/3rd earths the way people semi-float.
So it's not jumping that I mind. I also hate games that don't let you jump or traverse any obstacle. It's the fact that you can shoot AND jump without almost any negative effects. The ability to roll would go a long way to adding to the flavor of combat that this game so desperately needs.

I'd rather Slide, and i've made a thread about that...
But Cover system, no, not need with shield and armor to hide behind already...
And i like no negative effects as shooting and jumping goes.
And the obstacle thing gets super annoying.. |

"Ahhh, this thread makes me feel young again. I remember some of the first posts I timidly put to the forums were about bunny hopping. And even then, many builds ago, when you could run and jump like a gazelle and we were all fleet of foot and there was no end of circle strafing none of that side to side thing the kids do nowa adays, yes even then there were hoary old veterans that would groan and mutter 'Ffs, not this thread again.' So before you hop on down the bunny hop thread trail, do yourself a favor and take a trip to the search button. I'll give ya a little help since you seem like a nice youngster and probably could't kick a quester down a hole in the dark ifGǪ eh? What's that your saying?"

Bunnyhopping doesn't happen in DUST. Doesn't need changing.
I hate it when people hear one thing from something else and decide it must apply to everything. Why can't DUST be different?
It still needs the basics in every other game, but I would like the game to be faster. Makes for more interesting gunplay. |

I enjoy it the way it is. Just waiting for that hit detection fix, but tbh I think I'm used to leading shots and would actually prefer if you had to lead your shot just a bit on a moving target when sniping to keep a learning curve. |

+1
If the current state of the game were working as intended then there's no question in my mind that there'd be a problem needing a fix. As it currently stands I think the hit detection and lag issues need fixed before we can really assess the problems (or indeed if there are any) with the current implementation.
But as a (primarily) scout player I do have to add that I have zero desire to see Dust matches that could cause a player to wonder where the 'spring boots' module is equipped.
Cheers, Cross
ps ~ I think the point about using search is valid, however I believe it also needs an amendment within the context of a beta. A post/thread about an issue/feature/balance concern made in a prior build does not pertain to the current build per se and as such is not in fact functionally a duplicate. |

I love it when people start bunny hopping when I Snipe them. It's so cute watching them move up and down a a half centimeter on the screen.
Not to mention, it's hard to serpentine when you're traveling in a set arc :D
That said, the jumping I see is really minimal, and further nerfing (yes it was Worse before!) would leave a lot of more difficult terrain nearly impassable for those that range the Edges.
