CCP,
FPS games do not accommodate micro transactions, as a player tends to lose his/her life quite frequently. And to continue the model of replacing your loses, as we do in Eve will drive players away from the FPS(DUST 514). I am not against replacing my drop-suit, gun, or other equipment using ISK earned, since that is the traditional gaming model. However, you might want to take a lesson from other highly regarded developers in the FPS arena. I think that it is clearly noticeable, they do not use this type of micro transaction. So, rethink the approach to Aurum for the consumable gear, because I think many players will agree, it does not belong.

How do you expect them to get paid? They're not making this game for charity! |

Like every other console platform game. Or, maybe some ppl don't play many FPS games like CoD, Battlefield, and Counter Strike just to name a few. |

Okay, interesting idea. Now that you've suggested it why don't you make a suggestion as to how they will make money on a game that will be free to download and free to play? Seriously, if you're against microtransactions, suggest an alternative that allows them to make money. What do you want? Monthly subscription?
If instead you're simply saying a company should make a game for you that they pay for out of their own pocket without any means of recovering their expenses and making a little besides . . . then clearly there's no convincing you how off your thinking is. I'm not a fan of microtransactions, but I also don't like monthly subscription fees. For a free to download and free to play game this seems perfect because I can spend as little or as much as I want on the game.
The real argument needs to be made against pay to win ever being an issue, and to date CCP has said it won't be. Therefore, who cares if people have AUR items if you can still wtfpwn them with stock items. AUR for UVT is just common sense. CCP has to recoup the cost of hosting voice chat. The price needs to be realistic, but there SHOULD be a price. |

Here is an idea, if you don't like it don't buy aurum. They don't force you to use it in order to be effective. |

Yeah, CCP are really going to suddenly change their entire business model for Dust based on your thread.
AUR is here to stay, it's not going to change, accept it, move on. |

You can still play and advance in this game without buying aurum, militia equipment is still as effective as any of the other equipment.

Well, that sort of came out of left field. Even if I did agree with you I never asked you to be my representative. So don't go around pretending that you speak for other people.
Unless you can state the view that these people agree with, the total number of people that agree with that view, and a petition that has been signed by the majority of those people agreeing that you will represent them, and an explanation of why they wanted you to end your thread comment with the word "stupid" a good few people may be disinclined to take you seriously.
Thank you. |

And, this is a FPS too, it has the possibility of going the same route. They all get old and repetitive, especially ones that don't deliver new content.
Dust 514 has just put a slight twist on the FPS, bringing the Eve mechanics to the game.

Regards,
'Lose the micro transactions'? Get the hell outta here kid, not gonna happen! 1. Dust is free to download 2. Dust requires no monthly subscription 3. Ccp dont charge for their expansions/dlc
Your comparisons to other fps titles is pointless, said fps titles offer crap map packs for $15 (hello cod), on top of the $60 price tag to buy the game (bf3=$60 + bf3 premium $50=$110 for a damn game) (Dust 514=free to download + free to play+free expansions/dlc+OPTIONAL micro transactions=free), so..........if they scrap micro transactions then how do they pay to run the servers, pay their employees, support their families, put food on the table? If you don't like the micro transactions then please leave and let the rest of us enjoy the beta. |

First off, this is an issue that CCP has wanted to address, and they covered it in their news release. CCP should fully look at all options, such as: charging for the client, monthly subscription, and yes their micro transaction. However, if no one or there is little participation in the micro transaction system, well say good-bye to free to play. So, I am not against paying for my client. I paid for my original Eve Client years ago, when it first released. Secondly, never assume some one is a kid, as it shows you lack intellect. I will leave it at that. |

Wow, you make quite a case there! How could I ever respond to that?
A majority of people would rather play for free and never buy Aurum at all. You hate microtransactions simply because they're microtransactions.
In Dust 514, it's completely optional and I see nothing wrong with it. I think it's handled extremely well.
Oh and by the way, before long everything will be free-to-play so either accept it or move on. My Grandmother used to love Parcheesi, why don't you give that a spin and leave real games to the men? |
