Like the one today I got a specialist sniper rifle that had no other variations and not buyable? Its Meta 5 but I didn't really look at stats of it to compare. Anyone else seen this?

It keeps this game from being pay to win, since the rare items are comparable and even better than most of the aurum items.

Not rare, but not available on the market. And there are other such items. But there is also something like Krin's SIN-11 assault rifle. These are officer weapons and are rare. Some better than prototype gear. Like say, Balac's GAR-21 Assault Rifle. Which is the best AR I've come across. Full auto 37.8 HP 57.0 acc 72 clip size 360 max ammo 3 reload time

A rare one would have a description of: "This is a rare weapon salvaged from the battlefield" or something like that.

They're rare and making them "salvage only" keeps them rare at a rate/balance set by CCP.

I prefer using my AUR money to Skill boost, UVT than using it on weapons. You die with the AUR item is like losing a dollar.

You can go to the information page on any scrambler pistol you own/is on the market and select the "variations" tab to see the names of all pistols currently in the game (I think), even the salvage-only ones. Unfortunately you can't yet see the stats on them.

Question now that you have 5 copys of the officer weapon can you restock it for more in your dropsuit loadout? Or after 5 uses it goes away?

These officer weapons also require profficency III in their weapon type and are much much better than any prototype equivalent, they usually have about 20% more damage and 20% larger clip size. From what i have seen, when you get an officer item you always get 10. You CAN NOT restock these from the market, the only way to get them is through a rare loot drop There are plenty of other weapons that dont appear on the market but unless they are similar to whats detailed above, they are not officer

Jenza you actually get them in groups of 5 it just so happens that you usually only notice once you have 10 of them. I've seen them in in the salvage list. Either way end result, officer loot is bloody awesome, I can see some people with tweaked out dropsuits worth like almost a mil or two using these and ripping people to shreds.
