Greetings,
4 of the last 5 dropships that I have managed to summon have been unable to take off, I can turn them in place, but they are completely unable to gain altitude or move forward or backward. To attempt to alter this, I have rammed one with a LAV, I have rolled one over multiple times, I have shot one, I have exited and re-entered, I have shot the dropship with a missile, and I have shot the dropship with the dropship's own guns. |

Try unplugging anything connected to your PS3's USB ports.
I won't pretend to even begin to know why, but this worked for me. |

I read about this in my Dropship Flight School thread and the very next DS I called had this bug. I exited and entered a few times and tapped L1 a bunch and it finally lifted off. |

I tried plugging my DS3 in via USB and it worked on two dropships in a row after that. I'll keep it plugged in and see if it continues to work.
This is a weird bug. It works on a keyboard so far 100% of the time and seems to work on a plugged in DS3. |

Does anyone remember where their dropships got stuck? Maybe uneven terrain has something to do with it, or spawning one too close to large object i.e. buildings, towers, mountains etc. |

the majority of the dropships i've bought have been grounded due to this bug, i've tried ramming them with a LAV and they bounce around ok and can be pushed along the terrain but are still unable to take off. |

It's definitely not a terrain thing. I've jammed L1 to no effect, then had someone else hop into the pilot seat and take off without a problem. And then crash, because it's some random idiot in my dropship, but whatev. |

UPDATE: I've tried various things and they seem to help.
The other day, I plugged my DS3 in via USB and it worked after that.
That didn't seem to work today, though, so I tried a few other things. I was just watching Crunchyroll on my PS3, so I tried turning the remote control off (which is always controller 7) and it started working. I did this in the middle of battle and it started working right away.
They keyboard still works every time I've tried it, though. So it's definitely some weird control-related bug.
So: try plugging in your DS3 try turning off/on your DS3 try turning off the bluetooth remote if you have one (just like you turn off a DS3, hold PS button->turn off controller) |
