Was thinking how cool it would be if we had some tool to allow us to take the character(s) we have on Eve Online and to be able to use them on Dust. I think it would be cool if instead of the generic guys in armor we have as our portraits it would be cool if we could have our Eve Characters. Also to be able to walk around in our Dust captains quarters with our eve online characters. Then when there is planetary conquest to be had we can throw on the rusty old armor. I was also thinking with this merger we would be able to use the isk and aur we have with that character and be able to use it on either Eve or Dust. So this also means if you get bored of carebearing in Eve you can sign onto Dust R@PE FACE and all the while still make isk. Other things it would be cool to see:
- Join dust characters to corporations in Eve
- Be able to chat with pilot in Eve
- Two separate skill trees for both Eve and Dust. Both accessible through Eve or Dust.
So if we are playing dust we can go to the eve online skill tree and set a skill to train. Vice versa if we're playing Eve we can sign on and apply unallocated Dust skill points to your character.
To make it fair since one character can't be in two places at once you should not be allowed to be signed in as that character in two places. So if I am floating in my space ship and I sign onto dust. I should be disconnected from my eve client and vice versa.
Any one else agree/disagree have other ideas?

Your DUST characters are seperate from your EVE ones. The whole reason behind the wipe was to make sure noone used an already taken EVE name in DUST. The Mercs will eventually be customizable like the pod pilots, and so will the portrait. If you want to make EVE ISK with your DUST guy or otherwise, then just send the money to the character.
As for the mean things that must be said, you can already chat with EVE, DUST players don't so much as serve corps as they are bought by them (that won't stop there being, for example, Corps like DUST Goonswarm, DUST Pandemic Legion, etc), and lastly, having the double skill tree for one character isn't feasible in a way to ever be appealing. If my EVE character is in Inari, but I want to be doing a corp battle in Delve, then not even Jump Clones will make that transferral enjoyable. Plus, the implants in the pilot WILL be useless in DUST and be lost on death, and if he is training in DUST, he won't be training in EVE.
TLDR: Cute idea, but kitten no. |

It wouldn't work, I'm afraid. Capsuleers and Mercs us entirely different clone technology, they are more or less different species! |

At some point a customization avatar for a dust player to take a portrait with would be nice. and i believe is planned on, cause they can't have just basic images for it, it wont feel like you've created something.
And New Eden is the place people go to be someone the real world doesn't allow them to be. |

I agree with most of the objections, but I think it would be a terrible loss of potential to not allow DUST mercs to join and be members of EVE corps. Although I don't think a character should be both an EVE pilot and DUST grunt at the same time, for sure, I can't believe there wouldn't be corporations with groundpounder divisions to protect their planetside assets.

Max pretty sure CCP already said that will happen.
Though in my opinion Dusters and Capsuleers shouldn't mix corps either. Just allow Dust corps to join alliance with EVE corps. |

Corps are corps, not EVE corps or just Dust corps.
Don't need the seperate label.
I want the game in which the CEO plays to not matter.
Although it could be difficult to have the permission sets set up on a Dust client. |

Hrm. It just occurred to me that if there isn't some sort of barrier blocking isk from EVE flowing freely into DUST, there's going to be quite the market apocalypse.
I was make 40mil/hour or so before I quit EVE. I still have a few billion isk sitting on my old account. Freely sending that sort of isk into DUST, especially at the current reward/market prices, would be havok. |

How so when you spend all that isk and they wipe your dust acount for release or next build and you lose everything it'll be back to normal |

He wouldn't be able to send his ISK from TQ to dust till it's full release and no more wipes...
other then that the ISK in SiSI doesn't matter anyways |

Yeah I had heard that you could talk with eve players but I wasn't sure if it was true or not because I wasn't able to add my eve character as a contact. So I was afraid they changed their mind. But I guess if they don't want you to use EVE names I guess that worry is laid to rest. Good to hear about the future customization and that isk is transferable.

In null sec i make around 100 mill an hour and I'm not a particularly wealthy player. Fortunately for the dust markets i always need more isk in eve so i won't be transferring mass quantities. I think that will mostly be the case although i am very interested to see how prices go once eve and or dust players can manufacture the modules suits and vehicles |
