I roll militia tanks with militia fits and I make a protit. Game is ******* bullshit world of tanks now. It takes 7 AV nades just to get a freaking +25 war points for damaging the gunnloggi now as Tyas Borg was kind enough to let me throw a nano hive down and spam them at him. He didn't rep or anything. Just did a little wiggly tank dance.
The game is now Tank > militia tank > militia infantry. There is no "AV infantry" or "assault". I'm using militia suits and militia tanks only. And I'll end up with a big stack of ISK and be bored by about.... Now. |

I feel for you guys. Was in a gunnlogi the other night and got nailed by a few av grenades and a forge gun. I spun around and saw some poor sap with a breach forge gun slowly creeping around a few boxes just 20 feet away from me. I thought, why is this idiot trying to shoot me with that thing at shotgun range! and then I remember the nerf to range on it. Almost felt like putting down ol' yeller when I shot that poor guy. I don't like feeling sorry for my kills. |

It was very hard to kill a good tank before the nerf, but now it's just crazy hard. The only thing this type of change makes me want to do is to start putting sp into vehicles instead of av (currently all 7mill of my sp is in av stuff). They said it was a temp nerf; although, I'd like to know when it will be undone because if it will be a month or so before it goes back, then I'll just start putting sp in vehicles. |

Current Build: I was able to launch several volleys of SWARM missiles at a Gunnlogi from on high. Didn't even scratch it. Hit it twice with a forge gun one right after the other before he gunned me down. I think I took maybe 15% off his shields and 5% off armor.
Previous Beta Build: 4-6 shots to take out a well armored Gunnlogi from cover if one of it's gunners didn't spot you.

I noticed the difference with the AV Nerf and I agree it should never have happened. The Forge Gun's range should be reinstated as it's practically useless now and the Swarm Launcher's damage should be put back as it was. If there has to be a damage reduction, then maybe do it for the lower tier equipment, make them only viable against light armour and have the higher tier effective against Tanks.
I have played in battles where I have been able to take out a tank on my own with a Swarm Launcher, but I have to fight for it and if the opposition is communicating it is nearly impossible when as soon as you launch your swarm a squad converges on your location and takes you down.
There was a balance before the Nerf to AV. Granted if you were just a tank on your own, and a few of the opposition decided they wanted to take you out, you were toast. But if you have a communicating team that is working together, running interference while you recharge shields and repair armour, you should little problem.
After all, if the opposition is spending their resources and time to take out a tank, then they are distracted from taking objectives!

Before you go talking about how OP vehicles are give them a try and you'll see that your wrong. bullkitten. absolutely bullkitten. i've lost 2 tanks since this change. one, to another tank, the other, to a disconnect. infantry are laughable. earlier today i had a bunch of infantry wailing on me with swarms and av grenades. i started to run... then i realized i had only lost 2/5ths of my shields... and hadn't used my booster yet. i literally said out loud to my squad mates "wait... why am i running?" i stopped the tank, turned it around, activated the booster, and murdered all the av guys. in the end, i was 100 shields under CAPPED. it really is laughable. i mean it's awesome, i get to be kittening godzilla on tank treads, rampaging through tokyo. i'm enjoying it greatly. but from a BALANCE perspective, it is MASSIVELY kittened. EDIT: oh, and for the record, i'm still in a gunlogi.
I would like to reinforce Buzzwords call of bullkitten.
The tank guy in our group drives a Soma. A kittening SOMA. And he has lost one of them to getting trapped in Biomass by a Surya and a pile of AV grenades. The only time AV made him have to run was when five guys started firing Swarms from B on the map covered in spires... and he still didn't DIE, just decided it wasn't worth the risk so we loltank'ed C. |

I can't say that I have noticed that they take more damage from the rear but I will try to notice next opportunity |

OK. The only thing I would like to know is how long is this temporary adjustment of the game basics going to last? Has CCP specifically said themselves how long to expect this current state of game? If it is till the new build, I'm done until then, at least to see if the invalid and other problems have been solved.
Did they increase the throw range of advanced level AV grenades? No.
Last build EX11 packed av dropped at about 10m? That means a person would almost have to jump on top of them in order to hit them, now you have to get it close and not get run over (haven't had a chance to skill into them up past level 2 yet, can't play enough games without freezing or invalid to bother to try). Or drop them and run away hoping that the tanker, lav didn't see you and they run them over within a few seconds, or they go boom...been the source of a couple of suicides when I didn't realize the grenade didn't disappear and the lav decided not to run me over; was not a dud and actually went boom, they don't work against infantry unless you cook it.
ALL suits are now the same in the same category...with only slots being the improvement.....WHAT!!! (how come tanks don't suffer from this? And unlimited ammo.... why not try it with limited ammo, and lets have a surprise week of this in the beta after everyone is forced into your tank on tank action....give the AV guys some sort of enjoyment...but make sure to take it from us in the final build and only give it back after the 3rd patch in the second month after release.)
Get behind a tank with a forge gun, gee at 3.1m/sec that is funny. My fat suited heavy is going to improv classes in order to learn the art of blending into the scenery skill (x100) (&10mil isk to buy the book).....I will be a rock and the tank will drive by +1%, by the time I turn and fire, it will not be too far away. |
