I haven't seen it mentioned, but I would really like to see this weapons/equipment crafting mechanic that they're going to implement. Hopefully they can include it in the next build of the beta. But how are we going to be able to sell them for real money? |

Yeah, it could be that the interviewer is misinterpreting what is being said, but at the same time it could really mean we could sell our creations for real money. Doesn't (or didn't) Valve do something similar with TF2? And if we can do such, I would assume that CCP would get a cut of each transaction. I see it as another way for CCP to make money on the F2P model. |

Ehmm... the quotation in the OP linked article is:
Quote:During my interview (which IGÇÖll be putting up in full later) he talked about Dust 514GǦs Market saying, GÇ£Some items you purchase for real money and you can trade them with players that have items that are bought with in-game money.GÇ¥ He then mentioned the ability to craft equipment.
When I asked him if that meant Dust players making their own guns he replied, GÇ£Yes. ItGÇÖs awesome. Imagine picking up loot on a planet and selling it on the secondary market place. Someone who buys it is using that as a component in research of new blueprints that he can sell to players. HeGÇÖs effectively made a better weapon or a better vehicle that he can sell to players.GÇ¥
In this quote there is no mention of being able to sell items to other players that those sayed players pay to you AUR or real life money -ú/$/Gé¼.
It only says that players are able to buy AUR items and then sell those onwards to other players, now what isn't sayed in here and is bad communication in CCPs part or article editors is that when you but AUR items and sell them to othe players you get in return ISK from that other player.
So in practice if you play alot and dont spend real life mony to buy AUR and have tons of ISK you can buy AUR items from other players with your ISK.
Or if you have real life money to spendo on buying AUR you can buy AUR items and sell them to other players to get ISK to fund your playing
Edit:
Important here is that you won't be able to gain AUR it self from other players. Only those items that cost AUR. |

I understand all of that, but it would still be nice if it could be done. Ijs. The crafting is what interests me the most, the money (if it were true) but just be a nice extra. |

It's not crafting, it's called Manufacture, you can also Research in Eve, which can improve the build time or reduce the quantity of materials used or improve the output to a Tech 2 item, possible in DUST improving an item to advanced or prototype level, or maybe just to the same Tech 2 variants we haven't seen in DUST yet, but are supposed to be coming Soon (tm) |
