The spawn point was on a base in one corner of the map, after a short wile 3 thanks run up and killed all the time the rest of the time, it one shot all.
What to do in a situation like that if we had good teamwork.

There are 2 things you can do in situations like this;- one if you have a tank and two if you dont.
If you have a tank, pull it out behind the buildings. You have a lot of cover there. Have infantry support the tank with swarms or repair kits. Tanks are useless without any sort of cover either other vehicles or infantry. Have sniper support. Most people get cocky when they think they have the advantage.
If you dont have a tank all of you spawn the default swarm launchers or forge guns, flank the tank and fireaway. I would like to see any tank survive that. Well actually I have but it it was a different situation.
The most immportant thing you need to remember is if you ever get spawn camped its because your team really sucks. No decent enough team ever gets spawn camped.

1. swarm launchers -> whole team -> focus 100% on tanks. with 8-16 players you just might take one down or at least make it retreat.
2. Don't why feed the enemy team if the match is so unbalanced? just leave the game and hope next match is a proper match that isn't full of Tank babbies and nooblets.
Personally I think leaving severely unbalanced game is a lot more honorable than cheaply spawn camping the enemy teams last spawn point, especially with a tank.. seriously how cowardly cheap can some people be? Those people probably use trainers and cheat codes in games when given the chance.
3. alternatively if your good and you get the chance you might go on inexpensive killing sprees with scout + shotgun/smg fit. With militia gear you don't really loose anything but might get some ISK and SP rewards. |

Leave the game. Its the only solution.
When people tank camp from the hillside and you have one spawn point left theres no point in spawning at all. Leave the match join another one and pray they dont have tanks.
If you have other spawn points open other then the one getting camped, spawn there and get a swarm launcher and try to kill them from a distance with cover near by.

AV grenades are a perfect way to abolish tank camping. Spawn look at the tank and throw. |

lol... leaving the game... funny.
There are many things that can be done.
1. find a hill with a good view and rain swarms
2. get in close with what I'd call a kamikaze with some av grenades/dumb fire swarm... lav's are free (approach from behind)
3. medium range behind a hill or object and take pop shots
4. Get in a turret (if they are still there)
5. Get another vechicle tank or ds
6. Use droplinks to bypass a blockade
7. Avoid the tank and keep moving from one objective to another (where the tank isn't)
8. If the tank is next to a hill, use it to jump on top of the tank and use your av stuff. (another kamikaze approach)
9. If they are following a somewhat predictable path, then lay an ambush for them.
10. Use a nanohive and toss a bunch of av grenades on the ground for when they come around. (They will act like mines for a short period of time)
11. Communicate where the tank is at, incase there are other random ppl trying to kill it but only have the voice on without a mic.
I'm sure there are alot more options. Sometimes making a tank retreat and not come into the thick of a battle is a win. Although, those things are expensive and if you can destroy something expensive, then thats just as good as a victory in both sp and isk... Sometimes even better. |

i had 2 tankers in my squad last night.. we played about 20 games in a row where everyone were militant scouts, including most of our team..
they were trying to knife other militants in default heavy suits (no Mr. scout, you are not a TF2 spy) and those default heavies were trying to hit assault guys with swarm launchers and the assault guys thought their militia AR's were for AV..
needless to say we steamrolled the other team for about 8 hours straight or more
the real counter to tanks is other tanks with infantry support (AV, logi, assault) imo all with mic comms.. the snipers running towards the nearest mountain were being gunned before making it there.. the ones who actually made it there were being precision struck |

DON'T LEAVE THE GAME!!!
You're depriving yourself of any ISK and SP you may have earned while opening up a slot for some other poor sucker to end up in. Nobody likes joining an already redlined match in progress, especially when it's their first match of the day. If you absolutely cannot survive or retaliate in any way, go hide behind a building for the rest of the match. Leaving is the worst possible thing you could do. Cannot stress this enough.
As far as strategies to break out: it's easy on the maps that have multiple home bases. I have a speedy scout fitting with drop uplinks. Spawn at the base that's getting less hammered and just book it to some good cover to drop your uplink. Then make a break for the [i]farthest/i] objective you can reasonably get to. If your uplink hasn't helped the team escape, hack the objective and go find somewhere hidden to drop another uplink. Even if you can't hold the objective or your uplinks, the enemy should be sufficiently distracted to call off the turkey shoot. |

Don't really care to be honest. Sometimes the SP and ISK you can get from those matches just isn't worth it so why waste the time?
Besides if you get thrown in the game that has already been decided all I can say is: Don't hate the player, Hate the game. |

3. doesnt work the splash damage from the tank is too big.

AV grenades and a nanohive. That's my secret. If I don't kill them it is because they retreat and hide somewhere. I have yet to play with or against a tank operator that wasn't a kitten. |

Something I haven't tried yet.... are you able to get a nanohive and load up your own lav with remote explosives to turn it into a moving bomb? I tried it with av grenades, but they don't stick to your own vehicles.
Edit: nope, I just tried... You can get them to stay put in the lav, but for some strange reason, if you try to move the lav, they will do collision dmg to it. |
