Snipers do not need any appreciation. We do not put ourselves in any great risk. Why should we have any kind of significant rewards when you're just sitting around someplace partaking in a turkey shoot? |

Yeah, but only 1 death. You're just hanging out somewhere safe while your team does the actual work. Maybe you helped them a bit, but they're the ones who died trying to take control points. They won the match, you were just a cheerleader to their success. And I write this as a sniper myself. We do not need big rewards for doing one of the safest jobs in the game. |

I feel pretty confident sniping will be nerfed in the future. Everyone in the top KDR is either a sniper, a tank person, or abusing scout suits. Maybe Ludwig is the exception, although I only saw him in a game one time. He was nonetheless in an assault suit.
Either way, sniping is super easy, super safe, super powerful. In a game like Dust, with big, open areas, it behooves CCP to err on the side of snipers being underpowered. After all, overpowered snipers (as they are currently) makes the game suck more for everyone. Underpowered snipers only makes the game suck for some snipers. |

I am telling you as someone who for whatever reason is more successful than most people with a sniper rifle that sniping is overpowered and needs to be nerfed. I expect any other snipers in the top 10 on the leaderboard would probably say the same. Sniping is nowhere near where it needs. |

When we talk about snipers we're referring to people who are sitting somewhere shooting people with a sniper rifle. It's great that you took all that time to write that post up, but that's not relevant to this thread. If you're dropping uplinks all over the place and otherwise "on the frontlines with my fellow logistics and assaults" then that's not what this thread is about. Although if you think assault or logistics roles aren't being adequately rewarded you're certainly welcome to make your own thread about it. |
