Why should we have any kind of significant rewards when you're just sitting around someplace partaking in a turkey shoot? Oh yeah? Why are there so many red triangles on your screen? Whos dropping the uplinks behind enemy lines? Who's holding off 3+ guys in full proto with a rifle just so you can spawn safely? Who's sniping turret gunners and vehicle gunners so you can advance safely? That's me. If you're camping in a mountain with a rifle, good for you. But I'm on the frontlines with my fellow logistics and Assaults fending off attackers or poppin' defenders in the face. All about how you play the game, man.
You know good and well that what you are talking about doing is not what the majority here are talking about when they say "sniper." Generally, that term isn't used to describe just anyone with a sniper rifle equipped, but rather people who play hide and seek on the edges of the map, potshotting guys from long distance and obsessing over KDR. For the most part, that sort of play is pretty much useless in anything other than ambush... or, at the least, LESS effective than actually getting down into the fray and actually helping.
I mean, sure, if one of those snipers covers me at an objective and takes out a guy, great, that certainly helped... but what would have helped MORE is if the same guy was down AT the objective with me, covering me with an AR and actually helping to cap objectives, complete squad orders, dropping hives/uplinks, repairing, tossing grenades, etc rather than being stuck up in the hills only helping with a single aspect. |

that's interesting, I didn't know there was a 1v1 mode on Dust. |
