Point of contention that a friend brought up, at 00:00 GMT on Friday August 31st, wouldn't that be 8:00pm on Thursday August 30th if you live in USA Eastern Standard Time (New York City | Atalanta).
Regardless, I am operating under the assumption that corp battles will take place for me as follows:
(East Coast USA time | EST | New York City | GMT -4)
Friday Aug 31st @ 8pm
Saturday Sept 1st @ 8pm
Sunday Sept 2nd @ 8pm |

Sunday Sept 2nd @ 8pm Regarding your point of contention, that's exactly what I posted in my opening post of this very thread. Which means that the battles take place on the 30th and 31st of August, and the 1st of September. I'm guessing you just kind of glossed over that. 
Yes, i did not catch that, my apologies. I'm slow and need things spelled out to me like I am in 2nd grade.
SO....if I live in New York City on the East Cost of the USA will I have corp battles starting at 8:00pm on Thursday (Aug 30th) or Friday (Aug 31st)?

Unless CCP itself doesn't understand time zones and made an error, your first battles anywhere in the USA will take place on Thursday August 30th.

IF we are allowed to play in both EU & US corp battle sessions, that means the available times for me would be:
(East Coast USA)
8pm Thursday August 30th (1st US session)
4pm Friday August 31st (1st EU session)
8pm Friday August 31st (2nd US Session)
4pm Saturday September 1st (2nd EU session)
8pm Saturday September 1st (3rd US Session)
4pm Sunday September 2nd (3rd EU Session)

This leads me to believe that US corp battles will begin tomorrow, Friday August 31st.
